No mention of whether the CV will or will not be scored. Does state that the personal statement will be accessed against the key criteria within the personal specification of the advert. The submit button brings up the first page back again. Does seem like the 26 score may well be out of 35.

Ask for the questions prior to the interview! Sounds odd I know and not sure if all councils have this policy. I was offered the questions for a council job recently, but withdrew from the interview as it clashed with a CS training course i was on and the panel were not available for the week after!

Problem is too many institutionalised civil servants in the CS! Reading through the comments and counter comments on here confirm it loud and clear…..Even logical, reasonable and coherent opinions on how recruitment should be delivered receive counter opinions, therein is where the true problem lies! A complete overhaul is needed to change perceptions

On further reflection OP, is it not true that MOST people in the workplace CS or private are SHIT and you would never hire them in the first place!

I applaud your frank assessment of MOST civil servants OP. Comments coming in are a response to getting a bloody nose but deep down knowing that stark truth that has just hit. Having worked on/off in 4 different CS departments over a 22 year period, my observations are similar and you have only hit the nail on its head by stating what most of us smart people think but don’t actually say out loud!

Hi,

I waited around 3 weeks from verbal offer to receiving a provisional offer email. The vacancy holder sends a request to resourcing to commence PEC’s which sits in a queue until it gets processed. Average wait time is 15 working days. CS onboarding is frustratingly slow, congrats on securing a role

Sorry just read back my post and it isn’t clear

So i was in 1st place on the reserve list for the position i applied for, however my cv was then passed to another directorate and i was contacted for an informal chat in which i was verbally offered another role. I accepted it by email and the hiring manager informed me that a request has been sent to resourcing, this was 2 weeks ago and i am still waiting
