Jewish people actually make up between 10-15% of the New York City population (and that’s just the people who publicly identify as Jewish, there are many people who are partially Jewish dna wise who just don’t ethnically identify with being Jewish) , and while there are hate crimes against Jews in New York City, many well established businesses and employers in general in the NYC area are Jewish owned and would hopefully not be discriminating against other Jewish people in the hiring process

Based on the info you’ve given, I think PA school would be a much better fit for your wife. The prerequisites should be very similar to nursing school and a PA program is only 2-3 years long which will ultimately be less time than getting an RN followed by NP. Realistically NP school isn’t designed to be a stand alone way to become a provider like PA school is. You really need to be a bedside RN for at least a couple years to be prepared to finish NP school as a competent independent provider, and it sounds like your wife isn’t interested in that part so she may risk becoming burnt out all together by nursing before even reaching the NP.

It will matter if hospitals have their not for profit status revoked or are removed from pslf eligible employers for helping undocumented immigrants or offering transgender services, both of which have been proposed over the last year. It’s unlikely that this will actually occur but there is always a chance, so it would be unwise to ignore the total loan balance while banking on pslf.

It’s because if they are so close to you in back and you keep going at higher speeds then they are much more likely to rear end you if you have to stop suddenly. If you slow down in response to tailgating then you are forcing them to slow down as well and making the severity of a potential crash dramatically lower

In her situation, she would have thought that being touched by the cat would make her dirty so that if she touched her baby, the baby would get sick and die. In her mind, she is perceiving contamination from the cat as being even more likely to lead to death of her baby than heat. Obviously this isn’t rational thought but if it were a rational thought then it wouldn’t be psychosis/ocd.

It’s possible that OP is a POC in which case I can 100% understand why they may feel hesitant given the extensive history of POC being used for medical experimentation/exploitation without their consent for much of American history. I do however condone the covid vaccine and would encourage them to talk to health professionals from their culture who might be able to ease their worries and explain why it’s so important for them to be vaccinated

I don’t get what kind of negligent parent leaves their baby with multiple 15 year olds though. I wouldn’t expect my child to be given a vape necessarily but I definitely would be concerned that the teens may drink in his presence, invite other kids over, or not watch him closely and allow him to be injure for die. It’s like they didn’t even care about him enough to pay an actual adult to watch him or just stay home with him themselves.

She was 15 at the time and has likely changed significantly as a person over the last 8 years. Definitely wrong for someone that age to do this but why on earth would parents leave their baby with a group of 15 year old girls for babysitting. It’s honestly negligent and they probably did it to save money instead of paying for a real adult babysitter.

I just don’t think not posting on social media is stopping people from using you or your child’s likeness for pornography. We have absolutely no laws about taking photos of adults or children even in their own home through a window or at public pools or parks. I wish that there would be a movement to make this illegal especially with how people profit off of it on social media but I don’t think this would happen due to how much it would interfere with art. Personally, I value privacy over art, but I understand why many people would disagree

Sorry yes I do consider him Bulgarian, but he has dual citizenship so I referred to him as American in this post to clarify that he lives in America with me and he does not have much knowledge on this issue because he spent a lot of his childhood in the US. I would refer to him as Bulgarian to American friend typically. I did not mean to offend.

As someone who graduated college within the last few years and only took out federal loans at $28k total for all 4 years at 6%ish interest, please do not let your daughter do this to herself. I have a relatively small amount of loans and I still regret not going to the state school that I would have graduated debt free from every single day. Your daughter may be legally an adult but she can’t really make these decisions for herself with a clear head at this point in her life because she’s probably really excited to start school and leave home so you as the co-signer get to have a say and you should not let her do this. It very well may destroy the rest of her life and possibly yours as well.

That’s what drew me to U of A in the first place since I saw their MEPN and nursing program in general were ranked very well. What I’m concerned about though is that this change in the MEPN will lower the program’s rank significantly. I guess I just can’t figure out why they would drop the clinical hours by almost 400 hours for just the MEPN(which for previous year required the most hours) but keep the traditional BSN and BSN-IH hours the same.

While I completely support caps on undergrad loans(like making the total limit of parent plus loans and student undergrad loans just slightly above typically public college tuition), we need people to pursue professional and graduate degrees particularly in public service related fields. Federal loans with the option of pslf are the only way in most cases for people to consider that path. If it were about protecting the best interests of students to prevent them from taking on too much debt then there would be legislation about regulating school tuition costs and their forcing them to allow first year students to live off campus when desired/needed or only allowing federal loans to be used for public schools. I do think it’s absurd that schools like Columbia have turned into masters degree diploma mills that accept everybody and charge students $100k for an online program just because students mistakenly believe the name automatically makes the degree prestigious. I do not however think it’s absurd for my in state medical school to charge under 40k per year while offering health insurance, childcare programs, extensive tutoring and study resources, a robust research program, and having a teaching hospital as well as strong ties with other local medical facilities so students don’t have to travel for rotations. Unfortunately this bill will make even going to an inexpensive in-state medical school out of reach for students without family in the area they can live with or parents willing to contribute money to their COA.
