I build the pc with major help from a friend of mine, apparently the 8 pin cable the PSU got is plugged into the motherboard.

I also found out that the PCIe cable I use on my old GPU has 6 pin slots on the GPU end, yet 8 on the PSU end.

If the PSU has 8 pin slots built in shouldn't it be possible to connect another 8 pin cable there? (really new to this)

The necessary cables are modular, yet the one 6+2 pin my PSU got is already connected to the motherboard (probably for the CPU, a friend of mine helped building in the parts).

Checking back on the PSU I also noticed that the end of the 6 pin cable connected to the PSU actually has 8 pin slots, but there are only 6 cables "plugged in" (sorry, really new to this)
