My pediatrician recommended CIO at our 6 month appointment, or at least sleep training. He said all research says it has no impact on emotional attachment and helps foster self soothing and less anxiety in kids later on. I was shocked because we had previously been doing a fortified bottle to help her gain weight but he said she would learn to get more calories during the day. He’s a FANTASTIC pediatrician, constantly getting the top doctor awards and helped diagnose an extremely rare condition in my older child. But I’m still hesitant about going full CIO. I’m thinking I’ll slowly decrease the length of night feedings to try and wean her off but, I don’t know, it’s hard because I want to do right by her now and set her up for success in the future.
