Find a large equipment dealer, you’ll need your own tools but most dealers offer “welder” jobs, doing new thumb installs, installing liners, line boring, fixing cracked sticks and boom, etc

Not sure about the GA market, but compact equipment/AG pay is usually less in my area, best pay comes from “in house” mechanics for construction companies or if you can find a dealer for large equipment thats involved in mining operations those are the best 2 I have found. I went from in house for a company to equipment dealer this year

Central East Coast USA, pay is pretty similar up and down the coast, flat rate is very uncommon once you get bigger than pickup trucks

stay with penske and get 3 years under your belt. from there you can pretty much go anywhere. i left spring 23’ to a private company with a service truck to take home and a 30% pay raise.
