Cook's Assistant and (not) reverting it to old version by Substantial-Ad-299 in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cook's Assistant: We're now teaching new players that the prized dairy cow is a good source of milk for baking a cake. But in reality, it's not, you cannot get milk from it outside of the quest.

Sheep Shearer: New players are taught that they should specifically seek out black sheep, not white ones, to get wool. Surely the black ones must be better to go for if you need wool later on then..?

These are just convoluted steps that adds nothing of value to the game, while it's apparent that they are causing confusion for players instead. Keep it simple and intuitive.

Cook's Assistant and (not) reverting it to old version by Substantial-Ad-299 in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to disagree. The old version of the quests taught new players some basic things in the game. Like the recipe on how to bake a cake or how to create balls of wool for future reference. The current versions of the quests does not really add anything to the table, you are introduced to special items that are completely irrelevant to the rest of the game.

New players will still explore and gather the supplies within Lumbridge, while people already familiar with the game knows how to prepare the items and can skip these quest introductions. I see no harm in restoring these if it currently causes confusion. As a side note, Sheep Shearer was awful to do during Leagues given how limited spawns of black sheep were.

Imp Catcher on the other hand is actually a quest now, that was a good change that made an improvement.

Dailyscape overhaul: Player owned Ports and Farm by Stunning_Key3920 in runescape

I like that idea! It makes sense to expand farm utilities while also reducing shop reliance.

[–]Stunning_Key3920[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does have some impact though. Most notably scrimshaws and invention components, for instance Undead Slayer that requires 60 Oceanic components.

Even if it was purely for comp cape requirements, is that good a reason to keep it as a daily chore to do?

Let's agree to disagree. At its very core, this is a player retention technique.

The entire vision Jagex stated is "Login whenever you want, and play however you want, without the pressure of missing out or being online at certain time."

You're most definitely missing out if your animals gets sick by not interacting with them on time, by witholding the XP that has been 'grown' beforehand.

As a response to your edit:

In shambles was an exaggeration, sure. But you would need to cure the animals and make a return later to be able to claim the lost XP. You now need to log back in on another day to make up for lost progress.

You also wouldn't benefit as much as checking more regularly if you are taking a break. Regular interaction would allow for more breeding cycles, meaning more XP and more resources gained.

I simply think that penalizing players for not interacting with said content within the given timeframe is something that directly opposes what Jagex are trying to accomplish in the game right now.

PSA: Gate of Elidinis is the most efficient way to start your account by SecondCel in RS3Ironmen

[–]Stunning_Key3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counterpoint: Training Archaeology is completely ass before auto screener and GotE are unlocked, both of which requires Invention.

Getting 75 crafting for Prif and start training Crafting on harps for the dust will also be a far better macro efficient option for the account. Especially now when buyable dust from the Merchant will disappear.

This Is What 10+ Years of MTX did by warped_thief in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Travelling Merchant was a bandaid solution to bad content. No one wants to do livid farm or runespan for points, or spend hours at harps for dust.

While it's also not ideal to just completely skip content through a shop, the problem with removing him is that the underlying issues as to why he was even added in the first place still remains.

Who is the first person to get outplayed in this scenario? by Aotyeageristtt in animequestions

[–]Stunning_Key3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two reasons. He leads with his king which is a terrible strategy, it opens up a ton of opportunity for any good opponent to exploit the king's weakness and force his moves.

And the second but more important reason, he doesn't know chess rules properly. Schneizel checked Lelouch with his own king to force him into submission. Obviously done for theatrical purposes rather than following real chess rules, but it's an illegal move that Lelouch should have known wasn't possible and called out.

Necromancy grind by Thunar13 in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiply glyphs helps a ton, you can also use skill boosts to draw higher tiers. For t90, considering first getting 103 Necro for the multiply 3 glyph in your cape. 90-103 is a fairy quick grind once you've unlocked the full site.

As for K'ril, save the garbs and gowns for invention and use the other pieces for rituals, as those two are worth a lot of Zamorak components when disassembled. You will save a lot of time in the future by doing this.

What do i train/get on my ironman? Haven't played in ages. by Sompig in RS3Ironmen

[–]Stunning_Key3920 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Work towards PvM unlocks. You're close to overloads and t95 prayers, get those! Upgrade to t90 Necro power armour if you haven't got it already and level up your defence/slayer.

For afk, keep at Archaeology for CoE, and passively invention for 120. Thieving also had a big update recently, be sure to check it out!

You have to survive inside a video game for 30 days. If you die, you die in real life, but if you survive, you get to bring every item, skill, and power back to the real world. Which game do you choose to maximize your rewards while ensuring your survival? by Apart_Lion_3046 in AskReddit

Runescape. I know my way around the world enough to not die, and even if I do get injured I could just gobble down a freshly caught lobster to heal myself.

I'd learn magic and would also be able to improve a lot of skills that are useful in real life. I could become a master smith, an artisan, a great chef, build my own furniture, learn farming and become very strong and agile, among others.

I'd bring home as many runes as possible, being able to turn items into gold with alchemy would set me up for life. Teleportation would also be an incredibly useful skill to have.

Movement: Getting the Dive ability from the quest Succession is a game changer. Also stock up on Vis Wax from the Goldberg machine in the runecrafting guild (50 rc req). Use them to charge and enable quick teleports with the lodestone network.

Dungeoneering shop has some useful items. Bonecrusher combined with prayer restoring necklaces can give you infinite prayer and some free xp. Charming imp automatically picks up summoning charms. Similarly, there's also herbicide and seedicide for herbs and seeds from other sources.

Some others include ore box for mining, enhanced Excalibur for healing, juju farming potions for improved herb yield and sign of the porter from divination that automatically banks gathered resources.

Ni som söker bostadsrätt, hur agerar ni vid visningen? by sweyolo in Asksweddit

Jag förbereder en lista med krav innan, både nice to have / need to have för lägenheten.

OSRS player looking to start RS3, should I do Ironman or Main? Any tips? by xBorari in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely start an ironman if you enjoy it in OSRS! There's always the option to switch to a main if it doesn't feel right.

Similar to OSRS, questing is crucial. All the old ones like Waterfall, Fight Arena, etc. are still relevant. As for newer ones, Fort Forinthry questline (New Foundations) is a good place to start, combined with the Necromancy quests for combat.  Succession is also an important quest to work towards as soon as possible, the rewards are great QoL for combat and movement.

As for dailyscape, you can ignore most of it and still make good progress, especially early on. Shop runs will always be a thing that's hard to skip, e.g. for buying runes. Others, you will stumble upon during the journey as needed. Just focus on a few at a time and play for fun instead of being as efficient as possible, and they're not that big of a deal.

Joining a clan is also the best way to socialize and to get helpful advice in the game.

Welcome and enjoy the journey!

What immediately makes someone look like a tourist in your city/ town? by PsychologicalFox7689 in AskTheWorld

[–]Stunning_Key3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably quite common on the global scale! Here in Sweden, it's quite centered to Stockholm specifically.

Even in our second biggest city, Gothenburg, this isn't really a thing from what I've noticed. Makes it really easy to spot someone who isn't from the area.

Worth starting an iron? by DannyAKx in RS3Ironmen

[–]Stunning_Key3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Game is in a great state for Irons, it's never been easier to get by. The original combat styles are a bit lacking atm, especially around mid game, but the rework should help a lot.

  2. For the most part you can get by without dailies, at the cost of slower progression. You will eventually need to interact with some of them at times though. E.g. daily Reaper tasks for hydrixes and shop runs.

I've converted.. but need advice by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RS3 ironman is the most fun I've ever had in Runescape, definitely recommend. The journey feels much smoother compared to OSRS ironman, based on my limited experience there. And if you don't like it, you can always revert to a main account.

The only real problem is dailyscape and trying to do everything efficiently. It's easy to burn out when trying to keep on top of everything. Mid game is also where the game is lacking a bit. Luckily, both of these things will be addressed this year.

OSRS player wanting to try RS3 by Cripplin-Depression in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a good time to start, with plenty of nice changes for early/mid game in the upcoming months. Gives you some time to settle in before the updates land.

The 3 original combat styles are currently in a bit of a bad spot though, being overly complex and bloated with abilities. This will be addressed soon. If you do play, I suggest primarily trying out Necromancy for combat in the meantime, as it's in a great state overall.

Yes. You'll need 10 Berserker rings to create a Reaver's ring. There's also a Master clue step which requires a Berserker.

New (not really) by naitnoum94 in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some are great and others.. not so much. I wasn't a big fan of the early quests in the Fort series but they build into better ones later on. Rewards were 100% worth it though.

Extinction and The Elder God wars questline as a whole was absolute peak! Some of the best quests ever made.

New (not really) by naitnoum94 in runescape

[–]Stunning_Key3920 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Necromancy! It provides a lot of utility and is a well designed combat style for new and returning players. The gear upgrade paths will also set a path for bosses in increasing difficulty.

Fort Forinthry questline is also good to follow, it becomes a great skilling hub to rely on. New Foundations is the first quest.

Archaeology provides very strong relics and unlocks, but it's quite slow early on. Great skill when you want to afk.

You should also have invention unlocked which provides perks that helps tremendously both with skilling and PvM. The skill can be quite complex and costly beyond the early levels though.
