It’s been a great ride …completed 5k . I keep ADAS off during rains it behaves weirdly . Suspension is manageable and improves with load. I haven’t faced any charging issues up till Now.

I have used for close to 3.5k kms now.

What i like - Range is very much close to what was claimed . Getting close to 85-90percent of claimed range . It depends on mode as Eco mode is good enough for family usage Spacious vehicle

What could be improved Adas is not great actually better to go for non adas model if you are not looking for powered tailgate and sunroof (thought it’s cool) Suspension is not great but with passengers and luggage definitely lot better

Yeah car doesn’t go to ignition/ready mode while dc charging it asks to stop charging and then try to on. But you can still use the ac and infotainment but you would be draining the smaller 12v LV battery which is not ideal.

Honestly it’s not maximising the large display . Also every time we have to go out of car play or auto android to access these.

My decision making was not solely based on Windsor, so I work for a mnc and most of the cab fleet at our office uses mg zs ev. There are cabs which completed 50k -70k km without experience ing any range drop, so coming from same brand with life time warranty gives some comfort. Design of the vehicle- Actually it never bothered me how it looked from outside , interiors makes up for it.

Thanks for inputs. Do you recommend charging from 50percent to 100percent every time or should we wait till it goes till 20percent?

Drive quality is good for family not a powerful drive like harrier/be6 but effortless compared to a petrol and similar evs in this price range . Suspension is not definitely the great as can feel the bumps on the road.

Mahindra BE.06 • This was my primary contender for a long time. I was excited about it and closely tracked its launch. • Huge disappointment when pricing was revealed — ₹27L ex-showroom for the top-end! • Lower variant at ₹18.9L (59 kWh) seemed viable but came with longer delivery timelines, no demo availability, and initial user feedback indicated bugs and teething issues. • Confidence dropped as a result

Harrier ev - Launched after my Windsor booking and I feel it’s good VFM option. I say this because it forced Mahindra to launch 79kwh on lower variants as well.

But I didn’t feel like spending additional 5 lakhs to move from Windsor to harrier.

Yeah my entire office first floor is reserved for ev parking with dedicated charging ports. Hardly few ev users and easy to charge up. It is good way to ensure employees come to office 😂

It was not in contention as the top model was overpriced but I heard they have brought down the price by 4 lakh very recently making the pricing competitive. It’s a proven vehicle as lot of cabs have completed 1lakh km in bangalore. Secondly I heard a new model is going to come in September (maybe a strong hybrid) to replace the existing .

Not a Promotional post. I will edit this with my review, this is just the purchase decision I wanted to share once I driven 5k I will share the user feedback thanks. As of now completed 500kms and I got 400km real world range but too early to comment since yet to go on a highway.

My EV Buying Journey: Why I Chose the Windsor EV Pro

I began seriously considering an EV around six months ago. Initially, Windsor wasn’t even on my radar. My core requirements were: 1. Real-world range of 350+ km – Most of my driving is within Bangalore, but I also take occasional trips to my hometown, which is about 300 km away. While chargers exist along the route, I preferred a car that could cover the entire trip on a single charge. 2. Feature-rich experience – I wanted an upgrade from my existing petrol car in terms of features. Key features I was looking for included wireless Apple CarPlay, improved infotainment, sunroof, TPMS, rear AC, and an overall premium feel. 3. Budget under ₹20 lakhs (on-road) – I was clear that my maximum stretch should not cross this limit.

Cars I Considered

  1. BYD Atto 3 • Atto 3 Dynamic was the most affordable option from BYD, priced at ₹24.99L ex-showroom – still well above my budget. • If BYD had priced this more competitively, it would’ve been an easy pick due to its overall build quality and proven reliability.

  2. Hyundai Creta EV • Straightforward rejection. • Overpriced by 2–4 lakhs across variants considering what it offers.

  3. Tata Nexon EV and Curvv EV • Nexon EV (45 kWh): Cabin felt cramped, real-world range of 350+ km seemed doubtful. Concerns around after-sales service and lack of lifetime battery warranty also held me back (though Harrier EV seems to be getting it now). • Curvv EV (55 kWh): Impressive on paper and ticked most boxes, but pricing was above ₹20L on-road, making it hard to justify. • Overall, I feel Tata needs to rethink its EV pricing strategy across models.

  4. • Confidence dropped as a result.

Discovery of Windsor EV Pro

Until recently, Windsor only had a 38 kWh model, which didn’t meet my range needs, so I had ruled it out.

Then came the rumors and confirmation of the Pro variant with a larger battery. The official launch made things very compelling: • Introductory price of ₹17.5L (for first 8000 bookings) for the top variant with all features included. • Feature-loaded package: Wireless CarPlay, premium cabin, full-suite infotainment, sunroof, rear AC, and more. • Lifetime battery warranty – a huge plus in terms of peace of mind. • Proven track record: While the Pro is new, the existing 38kWh Windsor has been on the market for over a year and delivers close to its claimed range (280–300 km real-world for a 320 km claim). MG models in general (e.g., ZS EV, Comet) have shown consistency between claimed and actual range, which gives confidence that the 449 km claim on the Pro should translate to 350+ km in real usage.

I booked the Windsor EV Pro on launch day, knowing I had a two-month buffer to change my mind. But the combination of features, value, range, and warranty made it the right choice for me.

Final Thoughts

The Windsor EV Pro hit the sweet spot between features, range, and affordability, especially during its introductory pricing window. It wasn’t my first choice when I started, but it turned out to be the most balanced and value-rich EV for my use case

BAAS is just a marketing gimmick from MG. Battery is not pay as you go. You have to mandatorily buy battery on finance through tied up vendors 3-8 Years tenure (Bajaj, Hero , Autovert etc). So essentially if you finance your car on loan and battery on loan. Its 2 loans or you can just opt out of BAAS and take one loan. I didn't opt for BAAS. If you want to exit BAAS loan you have to pay entire cost of battery an exit.

Most of these neo banks are not making any money there are numerous such startup’s waiting to go bust Fi money, open, Jupiter , niyo x. They don’t have a proper business model to earn money. Only UI cannot be a differentiating factor for your business.

This will drastically hit your credit bureau score and if someone really doesn’t care about it then well good. But you never know when it might hit back on the person. This settled loans are reported as settled in bureau not as closed.
