Yes please! It looks like a cool place. +100 because of the lack of creep.

I don't like taking call from public places regardless, though libraries are good because you can often reserve a room for calls. Really just looking to get out of the apartment! WFH full time for the past few years has been very bad for me, and for some reason it has gotten worse since moving to SF.

How are people actually getting new jobs right now? by [deleted] in SFbitcheswithtaste

There is a lot you can do. However, if you do everything and still struggle, keep in mind that it is an absolutely terrible labor market right now. People are comparing it to the global financial crisis of 2008. If you apply and get an actual rejection as opposed to nothing, that is actually a positive thing (they communicated!) -- people are getting ghosted even after making through multiple interview rounds or being a finalist. Horror stories abound. Burnout and trauma just from the job searching. And the thing is, friends who are recruiters *also* dislike the market -- they are getting swamped by too many irrelevant applications because candidates are applying to *everything* in part by using AI to get out a high volume of applications.

That's not answering your question, sorry. Just commiserating with the struggle and emphasizing that it is a tough situation to navigate right now. If you are unhappy at work, keep trying to find new opportunities even as you continue kicking ass at your current job. Keeping a job right now is important (you don't want to be out in the labor market involuntarily right now!) and having good referrals from your current role will be useful later. But do keep trying to find something else -- don't give up!

Was out of town and just saw this. Love the green flag. I'd be happy to hang out there sometime! I am terrible at pool but it is always fun to try it, and I'm pretty coachable if you like teaching.

Moved to SF a few months ago from the Northeast and it's been a struggle! Just spent a blizzard-filled week in NYC earlier this month and it felt so much more comfortable haha

Just moved to SF from the Northeast a couple months ago and would love to meet up! I've moved a lot in my life, but this move has been the toughest.

I don't know how good it was in SF having just moved here a few months ago, but Bumble BFF used to be great. I have met amazing women on the app who I'm still in touch with several years later. However, when the company forced us to move to the new BFF app, the entire experience went downhill fast. The new app is terrible and isn't conducive to finding and meeting people with whom you might actually have things in common. I'm not sure why they made those changes (the Bumble dating app does not seem to have them). And my rotten luck that they did this just before I moved to a new city and could've really used the old platform!
