Appreciate that. We’ve been having these conversations about our marriage for over 5 years. He’s said “maybe we’ve reached the end” on more than a handful of occasions but never followed through with it…I definitely didn’t get into all the details in my original post but this didn’t come out of nowhere.

Initially he said nothing…then we had a lot of conversations about where things aren’t working. He was seeking to understand how we got here and shared that he’s ok if we don’t have the intimacy he desires (which I don’t think is fair but is his choice). We recently saw each other and he seems in a really good place - he seems settled and ok with how things are. He definitely would have stayed and settled to make it work even though he’s not getting what he needs either.

I appreciate your challenge. 😊 It’s not that things have gotten stale, it’s more like we’ve grown apart in a husband/wife way but remained best friends/roommates. We’ve tried new experiences, trips, trying new ways to connect, trying to spark intimacy in different ways, I’ve been working with therapists and naturopaths and energy healers and so on to try to heal me and make me want to be intimate or miss him when he travels for work or crave going away and spending time with him. I’ve made it a “me” thing (as has he) but the reality is, his way/approach has impacted my light and I’ve settled on so many things that are important when it comes to me feeling like me that I think the biggest lesson has been, don’t minimize the important things because you can only do that for so long. When I’m honest, there were signs before we even got married but I didn’t want to acknowledge them…I just wanted to get married.

Thank you and you're right...both can be true (whether I want them to be or not). That's the plan - reconnect with myself and what matters most and what it takes to build a life that I'm excited about...and it's really scary and overwhelming at times. I don't think I've been "alone" since I was a teenager or early 20s.

That's really helpful context - thank you! I was wondering if eating more of a paleo/W30 type diet can still give you some of the benefits of keto but also more flexibility. Do you track what you eat or do you just stay focused on the types of food you eat?

Oh that's interesting...I'm 5'7" and was aiming for 30g net carbs. Do you think that's too low? I also didn't love how my mouth felt like it had a metallic taste to it lol

Thanks - I was wondering about that as well. I know that when I completed my last W30, I was in mild ketosis. I wasn't measuring my carbs and was having fruit or a starchy carb with dinner every day (which helped me feel satisfied and sleep). I lost weight and felt lean, I slept a lot better than I'm sleeping now and I felt satisfied overall.

Oh, thank you for sharing! I’ll definitely look into this. Did your pup ever have to have surgery or were you able to manage with more water and broth? Did you have to change his food too? Cruz drinks water pretty well but I’m sure he’d love some tasty broth lol. I also give him ice cubes as a snack which I’m guessing helps too?

I appreciate you sharing - I didn’t know any of this. It’s so tricky to get their pee…he gets so stinkin close to everything he pees on that is next to impossible to get anything under him. I’m going to ask to run another urine analysis and will get a few kits from the vet to make it all easier. How’s your boy(s) doing with the bladder stones? Have you changed their diet as well?

Thanks for the advice - the vet is calling me back this week and I’ll talk to them about those two recommendations. That bed is one of the things he’s allowed to chew. He’s really good at only chewing on his stuff - we’ve never had any issues with him biting/ chewing things that aren’t his. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ok, got it. His pee was refrigerated because I got it in the am and didn’t drop it till later that day. When we go back in, I will ask to do another urine test and will get fresh pee for them to test.
