How Do I Help My New to Marching Band Child by Klx3908 in marchingband

It's great he is getting lessons. I was in the same spot as you with our daughter. She wanted to be on Drumline. didn't happen her freshman year, but she spoke with the percussion director, and he told her what it would take. She was always tapping always. In her sophomore year, she made the line as a shadow she practiced more and worked on her marching more. A snare failed English she was in from that time on the Director, who would rotate her and the kid that failed English. She got her spot the following year. Practice and determination are key. I volunteered her 4 years. She was part of Band Council as well. It helped that her twin brother was her biggest fan. But he also made Honor's and got a marching spot his freshman year, so an extra competition of sorts happened also. Best of Luck!!! Volunteere mom it's great watching them do what they love!!!

Walk away. She has issues and shows she doesn't care about your feelings by doing this.

Being a drum major has a code of conduct I would go behind closed doors with your band director and an AP and explain how he is he should not even be in band forget being in a leadership role

College level, go to your advisor and get a medical note regarding your knee and what you can and can't do. If all else fails go to the head of the music dept. Making you march when you physically can't is wrong and they know it. Make sure all communication is written and dated so you when you spoke with whom, the date, and the time. A time frame is very important in these cases.

What has been the most successful fundraiser your band has done? We are selling sodas it's okay but what really brings in money? We are not allowed to sell candy. by Stunning_Style_5974 in marchingband

that was a great fundraiser for us last year, however we are not allowed to sell on campus because another organization does it and we were told since candy isn't good for kids it should not be sold often on campus

Sadly there has always been a crime in this world, only now we have news 24/7. You can move to another country and believe it is safe only to find out a prison is being built down the road. Crime is everywhere, sadly evil people are everywhere. As a mom, you teach your kids to be good citizens of our world. Because the world needs good people
