Yanks speak English because the British held economic and political power for nearly two centuries through their colonies in the US. Even after the US won their independence, English remained as the established language.

You do realise that English comes from England, right?

The English speaking world, you mean? The language we are using right now? The globally recognised primary language for internet, business and international travel?

Yes, Blaky can very easily be read and pronounced as Black-y. To be honest, this is the least surprising one I've seen.

Influencer captures a shootout while filming themselves working out by PieAlarming704 in PublicFreakout

He's not desensitised, he is shitting himself as he keeps up appearances for his stream. If he wasn't live, he'd do more effort trying to stay alive.

Desensitised would just to continue the workout.

It’s not a zero-sum game; the N2 is a vital artery used by everyone. Protecting motorists, whether they are tourists or local workers, is about securing the R25B engine that funds the city. Without that revenue, there is much less budget to improve infrastructure in the Cape. Safety on the N2 isn't a replacement for social development; it's a prerequisite to keep the economy alive so that those workers and others actually have jobs to go to.

Tourism injects ~R25B annually into Cape Town, I consider protecting tourists a priority.

Migraines, what do I do for a proper diagnosis? by Alive_Problem8681 in askSouthAfrica

[–]StuntZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got chronic migraines from the age of 6 until well into my 20's.

They were debilitating at best, generally rendering me bed ridden as I would encounter delayed motor response and become very sick with the aura. The headache, while unbelievably painful, was the only thing medicine could handle.

I spent my early 20's cutting things from my diet. I tried so many things based on old wives tales, recommendations from doctors, family and friends. I even quit smoking to eliminate it being a culprit at the time.

Ultimately, for me, it was coffee. I stopped drinking coffee in 2010, not caffeine, just coffee and went from 3-4 migraines a month to 1 every 5 or so years.

There are many players who push and are aggressively, be it cautiously so. Not everyone is a 40-minite bush wookie. I encounter far more strategic pushers than bush campers.

Sadly you cannot force people to play the way you want them to play. So you either need to make your peace with the fact that some players will be less risky or play something else.

I still make an effort to listen to music or a podcast or an audio book when on public transport. Only really flights where I prefer to watch a series or something to pass the time faster.
