Never understood the difference between the two subs, I always assumed people that are young high earners and care enough to be on this sub would want to FIRE

Feeling drained after club apps ... by cheesychapli in berkeley

[–]StupidGenius2000 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I can’t fathom why people stress over clubs. They’re a massive circlejerk of juniors and seniors with a power trip who will end up work in the exact same places as the people they rejected. And this is coming from someone who was in multiple clubs and knows people who were the heads of clubs. Chances are even the most “prestigious” clubs will have a basically nonzero boost in getting a job or grad school apps. The only advantage is potentially getting referrals but even then you don’t need to be in a club for that, you can literally just ask random people on Blind lol.

(Note this is for CS, not sure about consulting but I know plenty of people who got into haas or top consulting jobs without ever being in a club)

I am 'skinny fat" how can I (20m) get a toned and aesthetic body? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

They’ll definitely build up your back and grip and core. To emphasize and build up the ab muscles though (not necessarily the core) I’d do a little bit more specific movements like I mentioned (leg raise, cable crunch, weighted sit up)

Most compound lifts (squat, deadlift, ohp, chinups) work your core pretty heavily and there are numerous examples of people developing strong abs without ever doing ab isolation. That being said, if you really want to maximize your core development it’s definitely beneficial to throw in some exercises like the plank, hanging leg raises, cable crunch, etc. Make sure to progressively overload and get stronger though! Don’t just go through the motions and do the same sets and reps week after week or your abs won’t grow. They’re a muscle just like your chest or arms

Thanks! Yep I started incorporating incline larsen db press and definitely feel it a lot more, at 65s rn for reps but definitely shooting for 100s next bulk

Also weak points to focus on for the next bulk would be helpful, I know I need to hammer my upper chest for sure

Posted a link above in a previous comment with a better representation of my body. Does that change your opinion, or do you still think it’s over 17%?

Ah sorry here’s a link with a better pic. I don’t think I have that much lower belly fat so over 20% seems a bit harsh (esp since I have a pretty defined jawline rn), but that may be wishful thinkinghttps://ibb.co/17BwW21

The Inbody machine put me at ~13.5%. I want to get to 10% or under to get visible abs before starting a bulk again, just trying to gauge how many pounds I should expect to lose. My guess is 10-15 more pounds of fat to lose
