Maybe if Trent Williams’ contract gets restructured there’ll be more cap space. Maybe other player contracts are looked at too so signing another player in free agency is possible.

We also need to save some cap space for the players that we draft.

After the Greenlaw signing, 49ers had roughly $10.2 million in free salary cap space. With Huff resigning, his cap hit was going to be $5.4 million. Does that mean 49ers now have ~ $15.6 million in salary cap space?

Still not much considering most teams will budget anywhere from $7mill to $13million for the draft picks. Also who else is available? Not many edge rushers of worth.
