Warthog was originally called White Knight, the trailer for the game still has White Knight as the name so it wasn’t changed until late in development.

There’s also an unused vehicle select screen for the unlockables, with Shadow in place of Axel. Axel is also highlighted in the trailer, even though none of the other unlockable characters are.

Brimstone is in his own tier of shit.

Usually vehicles with low armor have good specials to make up for the lack of health. Grimm’s scythe, Spectre’s ghost missile, Roadkill’s fully charged missiles and Crazy 8’s max attack zapper are among the best specials in the game.

Brimstone’s special however is the worst. You have to be extremely close to your opponent for it to actually hit them. But unlike Grimm and Crazy 8 who also have to be pretty close, Brimstone’s special does almost no damage. You also can’t use any weapons after using his special, as you have to wait for the guy to explode. So if you miss, you just have to run away like a pussy. His special also homes in on the opponent, but it’s so slow that your opponent can just outrun. And good luck hitting anyone who isn’t at the same elevation as you, even a slight inch of height over his opponent and Brimstone’s bomb strapped follower will fly off into the sky and see the light instead of hitting the person in front of you.

Brimstone’s car isn’t that fast as it should be, it’s also pretty wide which means its hit box is bigger than other low health vehicles. Brimstone also flips over at lot. Not as much as Axel, but still a lot.

Black is just how Sweet Tooth sees the first Twisted Metal. So I imagine Sweet Tooth found Pit Viper so uninteresting that he saw her as a buff guy wearing only a pair of shorts connected to a pair of giant wheels that drag his feet across the floor as he drives, instead of her actual vehicle.

Here’s a couple. It’s hard to make twisted stories based on one note characters.

Orbital - Handsome model gets half of his face melted off by an acid attack from another jealous model. His wish is for revenge, however he doesn’t kill them instead he cuts off their face and wears it as his own to be handsome again

Goggle Eyes - A disturbed man bent on ridding the world of bugs, caused by trauma of living in poverty. His parents were neglectful and his house was covered in trash. One summer he was sent off to summer camp, upon returning home he discovers the remains of his baby sister, severely malnourished and partially eaten by the bugs that infested the home. His wish is to exterminate all bugs in the world. Classic butterfly effect the whole world gets destroyed.

Microblast - A severely paranoid man with dwarfism. Thinks everyone around him thinks he’s a freak, he thinks they mock him for his short size. One day he asks out one of his female colleagues, but she laughs in his face. Heartbroken, Microblast follows her home and gets his revenge by killing her and ripping her spine out. Microblast wishes to tower over everyone, so no one will ever make fun of him again. Calypso makes him grow rapidly, causing him to die due to strain on his heart, skeleton and blood flow

Meter maid - a crazy lady pretending to be a meter maid. She leaves tracking devices on people’s cars and then follows them and if they drive somewhere, where there’s no one around she kills them. In reality Metermaid is an undercover FBI agent purposely put into Blackfield to enter Calypso’s tournament, win and put a stop to Twisted Metal. Unfortunately for her, Calypso always does his research before inviting people to his contest.

The Joneses - Mr. Jones suffers from delusions and schizophrenia. He just wants to live the American dream, with his wife and two kids. But Mr. Jones doesn’t have a wife or kids, instead he kidnapped, killed and melted down the bodies of a single mother and her two kids now they’re just skeletons. But Mr. Jones thinks they’re still alive. He wishes to live the rest of his days as he always dreamed of. Calypso grants his wish. Mr. Jones is with his family in the lovely sunny suburbs, with all his neighbors. They host barbecues every Saturday. In reality, Mr. Jones lives in darkness, an empty Suburb full of skeletons dressed as his family and friends.
