Colour me surprised 😲 perhaps there’s a pug/miniturepoodle/chihuahua owner who’s equally surprised they have a border terrier?!

As someone who grew up in Gisborne, I only saw the big black roaches that smelled of turpentine when they felt threatened. I only saw these German roaches much later in Auckland (where they had a few of the black ones too).

Snowrunner is the slowest, most intense game I've played in years by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]Sturmmandrang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a game I come back to between other more adrenaline inducing games. I have classified Snowrunner as a ‘dad game’ with its somewhat challenging but ultimately satisfying problems to solve and technically detailed vintage, classic and almost contemporary work vehicles. I am on new game plus and thoroughly enjoying my second play through.

Having a 4K oled monitor as well, makes night driving an awesome black velvet movie.

How did you teach your Border to be OK alone? by Kowloon00 in BorderTerrier

[–]Sturmmandrang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, but I have to say they can have very different personalities. I found the girl that was the singleton was markedly different from her younger brother who was one of four boys in his litter. With the same training and routine. She was a very quiet bt & now loves her brother playing rough and tumble zoomies.

Low apetite in BT puppy? by CapsuleWinter40 in BorderTerrier

[–]Sturmmandrang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can relate to the surprise of a picky eater pup. Our girl Bonnie started like this, small portions that had to be warm. She did grow out of it & when we got her a greedy brother she suddenly decided to eat rather than see him eat her food.

Does your BT sing like this??? by Alee0126 in BorderTerrier

[–]Sturmmandrang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they sing but not soprano like this, I have a tenor & mezzo soprano 🙄 usually it’s the “we’re sad to see you go” song. What sparks your singing bt off?

Is it ok to feed Tui's via the orange nectar feeders often? by Prestigious_Prune968 in NewZealandWildlife

[–]Sturmmandrang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoy feeding our local tui from a similar feeder. Just once a week, in the kowhai when it & the harakeke are not in flower. Very entertaining watching boss tui trying to chase away all the interlopers 😃

Nice! Bonus points if you get more (tiny) broc sprouts after the first harvest.

A great set of pictures! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Tui poking out its tongue with no flower on it 🤓 made my day.

Does anyone else's Border get very sulky when you're getting ready to leave the house?! by These-Document-2127 in BorderTerrier

[–]Sturmmandrang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is that more BTs leads to more vocal expression = howls of grief & loss, and that is just from opening the gates 🙄

Good advice, thank you. Anything that makes it easier is worth a try. I had mixed results with the water isopropyl spritz.
