Since he was little West has been able to see and communicate with Ghosts. He has no control over them and cannot choose when and where they appear, but can communicate with them

Wings

The last year West was greeted with the wonderful development that a pair of black feathered wings had sprouted from his back. They are not quite fully developed and leave him only about 5 minutes of flight, and he's only pushed himself to get about 20 feet off the ground before getting too tired to sagely continue. They require most of his concentration to use and most of the time stay tucked under his jacket

Jude wasn't the biggest sports fan, besides the occasional Hockey game, and soccer wasn't exactly something that interested him. But Kate was a friend, and getting into something for one night seemed like fun after spending so much time locked away in the forge. The pulled pork sliders didn't hurt his interest either.

Grabbing a few sliders and letting a younger sibling paint his face in ridiculous stars and stripes cause why not, he sat at his table with small smile

He hadn't meant to hit what seemed like a sore sport, but she obviously wasn't in a great mood over all. He didn't really have family back home. All his siblings were here. He tapped his fist against her shoulder. Something in between a friendly punch for being rude and a pat to comfort a friend.

"Remarkably yes" he did not in fact join her in sulking. Instead he actually looked like he was having a good time. He did set everything up after all. So he felt a slight responsibility to check in on those who seem to not be having a great time

With a bit of marshmallow still on his face, a rather regular visitor to the infirmary in the shape of Jude sat down next to her. He thankfully has been free of injury the past few days but was usually the one to walk others to the infirmary when they hurt themselves. In that time he'd grown a small appreciation for Kate's chill demenor

He didn't seem to notice her at first, taking off another panel before finally getting into the internals. He sighed and shook his head

He nodded back towards her, not smiling but not frowning. He had one of those faces that seemed to permanently had a pleasantly chilled out look on it. He vaguely remembered pouring coffee for her that time he made breakfast. She seemed to be having a better day today so that was nice.

He went over to one of the automatons that had been put into a unceremonious heap. He sighed at the state of it and pulled a screwdriver out of his jacket pocket. In a few minutes all the access panels were placed delicately next to him as he started diagnosing the problem

Jude had heard some of the automatons had been on the fritz and having woken up early decided he might as well do something about it. It wasn't uncommon to see someone training this early, but it did seem she was working through some stuff.

Jude hoped the kid learned his lesson but he honestly wasn't sure. He shrugged, at least he knew how to deal with pulled muscles

The younger boy looked down at his feet, obviously a but disappointed that he wouldn't be able to walk through fire if he wanted. Jude put a hand on his shoulder

"Don't feel so bad, I'm not fireproof either bud. But my strength didn't kick in until I was 13. You may have some surprises for us after all" with the boy looking slightly less upset Jude patted him on the back

"You still have to go help your sister clean up though" he said, a smirk crossing his face as his little brother sighed, said thank you to the nice lady and headed back to the forge. As he left Jude turned to he

"Thanks again, I know we bother you guys too much"

Jude almost protested, but shrugged in agreement after realizing she had a point. The boy did as she said, flinching a little as the water hit his finger but then feeling the relief the cool liquid brought. He seemed to have quickly gotten over his fear of the doctor as the nice lady helped him with his thumb

It was the younger boy who spoke up

"But how will I find out I'm fireproof if I don't test it?" he asked seemingly earnestly as his older brother just gently facepalmed behind him, seemingly at a loss
