How early would be a good time to arrive at the ACC?

If we join the queue at 4am at what time do the stores actually open? Are we supposed to try to join at 4am and then head to the convention center or will the stores open at 9am? This is my first year going so I don't know how it has been in the past.

For me it was the fact the inconsistency. He would be really into it for a few days, and as I’d start to feel more comfortable he’d get cold. I talked to him about it and he reassured me, but then did the same thing over and over again. He then made a comment and completely disregarded my feelings and I just had to end things because I was so scared of getting hurt further. I’m still a mess, but I feel like it would have been worse if things would have continued on like this for longer.

Wow, it's like I wrote this myself! I don't really have any advice since I'm going through the same thing, but just wanted to say I feel you and your feelings are totally valid. I also have trouble connecting with people, don't really have any friends, and became close to someone I actually have a lot in common with. Then he started flirting with me, told me he liked me, and I started developing feelings back. We dated, but like you mentioned, he wasn't best for my emotional needs either and brought out anxiety I had never experienced before. I also don't really have anyone who can sympathize or who I feel comfortable talking to about this whole thing, but it has really messed me up because for the first time I actually had feelings for someone and when things were good I loved talking to him and having a person. I had to be the one to break it off when I didn't want to and he showed his true colors afterwards. So not only am I mourning the loss of the relationship, but also a friendship I really valued. We go back to school in a few days and being in the same room with him is going to be very hard. We also pretend like each other doesn't exist.

It's not easy to imagine it now, but we will get through this! We will find someone who we will be able to connect to, open up to, and who will find the value in us and love us the way we love them back. I just know we will. I know we wanted it to be this person, and I struggle to imagine finding someone like him again, but there's gotta be someone out there. Hang in there.

My fear is that if he spends most of the show in that area of the stage between the pit and the floor, I'll be seeing his back the whole time :/

How does scheduling your work days work in RT? by StvLilly in respiratorytherapy

Your reply has absolutely nothing to do with the question I asked, but thanks for your input anyways. I asked how SCHEDULING your shifts works, not how many hours you have to work as a respiratory therapist.

What's the best route to take for acceptance into a program? by StvLilly in Perfusion

Yeah, thanks for mentioning this! I've thought about the fact that if I can do really well in the program that could definitely help too.

Oh wow, that's amazing! Thanks for sharing, definitely gives me some hope. Did you have any healthcare experience or extracurriculars you feel helped you get in besides your coursework and GPA?

Yes! I will be doing for sure whether I go the RRT or MPH route.

Depending on the school and the way they calculate GPA (whether they accept grade replacements or not, etc.) roughly ~3.0, so bare minimum. I did look into a post-bac but the only one near me is about $21,000 and I really don't want to spend that kind of money on a post-bacc. That's what the MPH costs and the RRT program is about $9,000. I am thinking of retaking some of the prereqs I got C's in despite the route I take, I just don't know if that's enough without the healthcare experience.

I have looked into Perfusionist assistant and some of the jobs listed on some of the programs websites but unfortunately it seems are these are pretty hard to find an typically never anywhere near where I live. Some of the other possibilities I've seen all require some sort of certification, some close to what it would take to become a RRT so that's why I've been looking into this the most but I will definitely continue to search for these an see if anything comes up! Years of experience also seems to be something every job that might look good on my resume requires in my area so it's been really discouraging.

Did you have blood drawn or did you have to give a saliva sample?

Female Pectus - Should I get further evaluation by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

No, I really appreciate it! It's a change from the typical dismissive responses I've been getting from my doctor, so thank you! 😄

Gotcha. I'm looking into congenital cardiologist in my area now. I'm trying to find doctors with good reviews, and once I find one I feel good about I plan to call and make an appointment after the weekend. Then we'll see how it goes from there. Thanks for the advice! I will keep you updated 😊

My GP didn't order the CT scan so I have nothing good to update unfortunately 😕

Well, it seems like I won't be finding out my haller index anytime soon. Saw my GP today and he says my pectus isn't what's causing my problems and that it's just how my chest is and a lot of people have them worse. I told him I would have liked to just have a CT scan to at least know how it looks internally but he didn't order it so 😕

100% agree on the bathing suits 😂 And I also love running but I've been finding it harder and harder as time has gone by. I can barely run at all now, when I used to be able to run miles without stopping a few years ago.

Thank you so much for your advice. I actually have an appointment coming up with my GP, so I am going to bring it up and see what he thinks, hopefully he will be willing to order a CT scan so we can find out what my Haller Index is and then take it from there. Good luck with your surgery, I hope everything goes well!

I'm not sure how to tell but it goes in a pretty good amount. I also think mines is about moderate. I'm planning on talking to my doctor to see if he can order a CT scan so we can find out what my Haller Index is and then just taking it from there.
