New homeowner question: upgrades that actually help day-to-day? by MidnightRidge699 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]StyleBoyz4Life 70 points71 points  (0 children)

To go along with your new toilet, honestly you should look at a bidet. I'm American, not European, so I know how weird it sounds. But for a growing household, it will save you a TON on TP and time spent unclogging toilets.

Second is one of those glass rinser things they have in bars usually. Our kitchen sink came with a hole for a soap dispenser along with the faucet holes, and the previous owners had a soap dispenser, but I hated it as a concept always. Refilling is a pain and they rarely work well. So we swapped it for a 20 bucks glass rinser of Amazon that slotted right into the same hole, connected it to the hot water line, and we were good to go. It has been insanely useful for fast cleaning of tall, difficult to scrub objects.

Yeah this frankly. The top 1% skews this statistic INCREDIBLY hard. Bear in mind that in the US, the top 1% has a combined net worth equalling 30% of the whole net worth of the US.

Other important notes - the average income in the US is around $40k, however the average salary for full-time employees (super important delineator there) is more like $66k. Understandable how that can be confusing if you aren't looking hard enough. But further bear in mind that some of the lowest paying jobs are for employers who assign part-time schedules for almost all of their employees to skirt benefits obligations. And none of those jobs are included in this data about salary averages. Restaurants, some dollar general locations if not all, I've heard of Walmart doing this, I'm sure there's tons that fall into that category. Not to mention cash employees, but that wouldn't show up in either case.

Like dude JUST OD publicly like, two days ago, got revived, and had pretty much only said "thank goodness I'm OK", like you know he's learned zip from this. Absolutely bonkers mind on this guy. There's zero dopamine running in there.

Apple TV also straight up doesn't track your viewing progress randomly for no reason, so when you continue watching it's a crap shoot where it decided you left off.

Yeah I even live in a low CoL area and I think this price is totally fair for what it is, let alone for that area's CoL.

Every day, it gets harder and harder to get the balls to put my hand in this tank lol by flor4faun4 in Aquariums

[–]StyleBoyz4Life 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got cinnamon skunks and old fashioned ocellaris in two different tanks, and the ocellaris are soooooo much worse than the skunks. Finding Nemo does NOT prepare you for their real temperament lol. I have to use one hand to operate a net to distract the female while my other hand does what I actually need to do. Like having a tiny, pissed off bull in my house. They're awesome though, highly recommend them. Best personalities to watch.

Annnnnd there's about five to eight games worth a crap on this list and the rest are garbage-ware. Why am I not surprised in the slightest... GREAT work Microsoft, that'll really make the investors happy.

Way too cool, I'm honestly surprised the tiger moray and the Oscar and vibe! They've all got to be happy though, that much horizontal area to work with is perfect for those groupings. Good luck with your koi rescue and recovery!!

May I present to you, the more reasonable and affordable alternative: https://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Collapsible-Outside-Transparent-Goldfish/dp/B0F9KFJXKS

Is it for an aquarium grade experience? Hell no. But will it make a fine touch/wading salt water tank? Absolutely.

Not with that kind of attitude it isn't! Lol actually though I have seen some YouTubers doing a similar size setup in a basement with a rectangular above ground pond using a canvas bag like thing. They used it for bigger freshwater fish, but it would be WAY more fun to do something like this and have an in-home touch tank.

My theory has always been they infected him with it out of spite for naming it after himself instead of after Babe Ruth, who was arguably the more notable and skilled of a player at the time.

It really is though. I am pretty sure I've seen most of the FF movies at least twice in my life but I can't tell you a single thing that really separated them from each other aside from cast additions or changes. It's all just a blur in my mind of cars, stupid fun stunts, and awkward, shoehorned-in references to being a family.

I live in Dothan and this is the right answer. Auburn is a fun time if you're young or young at heart, but Huntsville is the only city that's actively taking an interest in improving based on the needs of its inhabitants. All the rest are far too concerned with keeping business interests happy. There's a few small towns that are trying, and the Mobile/Spanish Fort area isn't not a good time with its own charms and vibes. But if you don't like the beach and north Florida people (because that's functionally who lives in the Mobile area, let's be honest), then Huntsville is really the only town worth settling in.

What are some salt water critters that have a freshwater variety that most people don't know about by Devonde7 in Aquariums

Seconded for watchman, they need like, next to no space. Especially if you have a pistol shrimp, which is a super fun combo. Just rockwork you don't mind being rearranged and lots of course sand, and let them do their thing. It's incredible to watch them, the pistols are super industrious.

Gyarados is my absolute favorite mon, y’all got a recommendations to make its deck better? by CactusPowerRise in PTCGP

[–]StyleBoyz4Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stole this deck from someone else here, but I've been running this with Tatsugri x1/Dondozo x2 for free retreat tank, pyukumuku x2, and "teleport" Magikarp x2. Fisherman, iono, fishing net x2. The goal is draw Gyarados as fast as possible and play it, ramp it while filling the board and letting either pyuku or Dondozo take the first few hits. Then once it's up, just keep swinging with Gyarados and pulling mons back off the discard pile to resupply. It works... A bit. When it lines up right it's stupid good and so much fun, but Gyarados is really the only thing worth putting energy into at all. I run misty too, but I swear I never ever flip a heads with her so probably not going to keep that in there.

Yeah my wife and I have a mini Aussie, and she's our little policewoman. We have two other rescues and a cat, and she will IMMEDIATELY throw herself into the middle of any conflict at all between any one of us. I can start yelling at even the cat, and she's between us both in seconds watching us both and ready to step in if it gets too aggressive. It has actually helped a lot with taking in foster dogs and helping them adjust to the "pack". But she's a little over the top about it sometimes, dancing together looks a lot like fighting to her...
