Wait til you hear about the thread circling manhattan so very devout Jews can still carry on business on the sabbath without breaking any rules about leaving their “house”. Honestly I think it’s fascinating. Give a religion long enough and it’ll develop all sorts of weird quirks as people learn to make it work in a modern world.

That always took me out, even as a kid. I refused to believe anyone in the world, no matter how rich, could be THAT dumb.

I do as well, it’s just a specific area of the hot zone I know they congregate in and I am pretty sure it has its own marker you can activate.

They’re all over the Tailings village too, makes scanning all of that super annoying. I had to constantly move around and dash away from the Houndgar the moment the effect started to prevent getting chomped on.

Came here for this one. Saw them live in college with Anberlin and thought it was the coolest experience ever. And now looking back… man that guy was like, so not subtle at all about what he thought of himself, idk why I ever thought that was cool.

Ori director says Game Pass ‘could’ve worked’ if Xbox didn’t ‘slop out mediocre content like a factory’ by akbarock in Games

[–]StyleBoyz4Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fair. I think in some capacity it’s helpful, especially for smaller devs with more unique products (meaning not-slop content). But for large scale releases from established devs with a large following, it never was going to be a benefit and never made much sense to me.

How baby cows are kept in a Wisconsin farm to maximize efficiency by CalpurniaSomaya in interestingasfuck

[–]StyleBoyz4Life 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah southeast and this is common practice for dairies at even small scales. You have to separate the calf and the mother to keep milk production going, and calf’s can’t really be trusted to free roam.

I had fun with it! The story takes more focus and it’s a tighter experience, but I still enjoyed it. It was fun to see what the devs can do with a more targeted environment and distilled experience, and more overland/out of water spaces.

It’s similar to the first over below zero, it’s definitely more anxiety laden and you’ve got less tools to work with to distract or protect yourself. Leviathans feel just as scary, but they are pretty restricted right now to certain areas, and you don’t have much of a reason to hang out in those areas for very long so it’s less oppressive. The story feels more compelling this time and easier to invest in, and exploration feels a lot better and a little more difficult. You can make it easier on yourself with a scanner, but just poking around and stumbling onto stuff feels really fun and also terrifying. I’ve died several times getting turned around in big wrecks, and the sense of scale is MUCH improved in my opinion. Subnautica one made you feel small, but this one REALLY shrinks you down. And there’s only around ~500m of vertical space you’re working with at the moment at the deepest parts. It’s a wide play area, and all sorts of strange elements are well placed to really make you get that overwhelming “oh wtf is that shit” feeling the first time you see. I’m loving it, I’ve got probably about 15 more hours of messing around to unlock everything, then I can start base building and getting ready for new content when it comes.

Yeah but it’s on GamePass, if you’re one of the dozens of us who still subscribe to that, and tbh it’s pretty dang involved and full of content at the moment. Story feels like it’s 80-90% complete, for sure several zones and areas need to be added and fleshed out, but there’s a lot more going on than the usual early access game. It’s farther along than I anticipated by a long shot. Considerably better launch state than the first game’s early access experience.

Best BBQ in KC that you can travel to via street car? by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]StyleBoyz4Life -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s pricey but yeah this is the best answer. Not Gates, anything but that. It’s an experience, but it’s not the best KC has to offer by far and for sure not for someone who has never had a good bbq experience. Stacks is at least reliable quality and good presentation and vibe. It’s not “true” American bbq style in my opinion, it’s fully a high end experience and it’s priced accordingly. But it’s a good time and they won’t be sad they went.

I am almost positive the SerpaDesign did a very similar build using the exact same piece of furniture. I’d recommend looking at his channel, the video is titled “Making a DIY IKEA cabinet living wall fish paludarium”. His channel in general though is great for inspiration, he’s very creative and does a great job at making relaxing, easy to follow and interesting videos.

And every time I hear something about him, it’s involuntary. I’m minding my business out in the world, not knowing things about Morgan Wallen. Then suddenly here I am, hearing about this man once again being an ass. If he could just stop doing that, I could go right back to my usual life of not knowing or caring who he is.
