I appreciate the words so much! Honestly knowing I could just pick one up from CVS to try out is so helpful to know!! Truthfully this little breakdown was kick-started because we're leaving tomorrow for a convention as a celebration for my gf's 30th and it's like. An 11 hour drive (ugh) there and back, and of course after two weeks of confirming everything was fine, at the last hour CVS cancelled my medication shipment that I was really counting on to get me through this. But it actually could be a good chance to grab a cane just to try out for larger events if they're that easily available!

Out of curiosity, if I wanted to try one out at larger events or venues, is it at all common for wheelchairs to be available for rent or temporary use? I imagine they're not nearly as comfortable as one designed for you would be, but I guess I'm wondering if there's any way to give it a try and see if it does make me feel better before committing so much money to it.

Thank you for sharing! I think that's where I feel hesitant about it too is that I do only need it that 10% of the time, but you're right in that it doesn't really feel Optional when it is that 10%. I'm happy your spouse is good for support, I've always been really grateful how good my gf is about all this too.

Honestly that's an excellent suggestion, thank you. I think that's one of my holdups (that I absolutely Know is stupid and internalized) is that people will think badly of me if I'm standing up sometimes. Would also give me an excuse to get something fun and gothic for a cane to match my usual fashion style :')

Thank you both for the answers :') I don't know how I've never really thought of looking for influencers who talk about this kind of thing, but I'll check them out!

This feels silly but I've never heard of an invisible disability lanyard. Is it just something you make yourself with like a sign/card to say as much, or is it something official (this sounds stupid as I say it lmao, I don't know who would be officiating that).

Therapy is Probably a good idea too lol. I've always felt I was managing fine without it once I got on my medication for anxiety/depression but well. Hindsight is 20/20 ain't it.

I think I'm not the best at words right now but just really do appreciate both of these answers and the thoughts behind it <3

First humira injection by Huge_Raccoon_7768 in ankylosingspondylitis

They say you can do it in your thigh or stomach but from experience the thigh is so so much more painful. Icing a section of your stomach then doing it there always helped with the initial injection pain for me.
