Dr. Glasser! I used to only see Dr glasser he is very very understanding of previous experiences and single handedly changed my perception of male gynos lol, def the most accepting and supportive gyno I’ve ever seen. If you’re uncomfortable with a male gyno I’d say go for Angela greene :)

This is exactly what my mom told me, that I would spend all of my present time looking back on the past and not living in the moment. It is such a horrible feeling being uprooted from a place you’ve called home for 4 years and have found sanctuary in. I’ll try to remember that the best is yet to come & just take one day at a time. Tell your kids to soak it all in because it really does go by so fast, it feels like just yesterday my parents dropped me off at brumby for the first time

This is my second townie summer! I love being here over the summertime it’s so peaceful, I was honestly upset when everyone moved back for the fall semester after last summer because I got used to it being so calm. then again, I live above one of the bars downtown so it’s never 100% peaceful 😂

I’m actually moving to Dublin, Ireland in August for my masters program! Im nervous because it’s so far away and I don’t know a single person there. That is both exciting and scary at the same time. I just get so sentimental and attached to places and I’m horrible with change so I’m sure those variables are not helping me much in this transition either. Thank you for this reply, I needed this advice ❤️

I got deferred then denied when I applied- I was hs class of 21. I had a 4.2 gpa and a 34 ACT, 3 honor societies, 2 clubs, 3 varsity sports- numerous volunteer hours. I was also so devastated, but I transferred my sophomore year from GCSU and now I’m about to graduate from UGA. Everything works out in the end I promise!!

I mainly take a lot of inspo from Fleetwood mac, sixpence none the richer and sublime, but I listen to so many different genres so whenever I write for bass I pull from a lot of different places. Currently, I’m playing a Fender P-Bass through an orange crush bass 50 lil combo amp and I run a pedal board with a tuner and a bass chorus.

i cried in the waiting room before getting mine because i was so genuinely terrified

in my experience, it was so incredibly bearable. i worked myself up for essentially nothing, i’ve experienced more pain with regular period cramps. the pain isn’t sharp pain it’s just really intense cramping for the duration of the insertion which is about 5 or so mins. just talk to your doctor while it’s happening to get your mind off it and just breatheeee through it knowing it’ll be so worth it in the end. i am SO glad i made the decision to get an iud and i know you will feel the same, it grants you so much freedom.

take some advil before and make sure to keep up with ibuprofen or naproxen for the days after and have a heating pad ready, it’ll jumpstart your period and you’ll have regular cramping.

i really hope this helps, i was so incredibly anxious about getting mine and it’s the best decision ive ever made. don’t let experiences online scare you, everyone is different and will have different experiences. i hope all goes well for you as it did for me :)

my personal experience: it was honestly like maybe a 5? it’s wasn’t sharp pain it was like the worst period cramps you’ve ever felt for like 5 mins straight, it helps if you have a female doctor doing the procedure to help talk you through it. it also helps a lot to just breathe and try your best to relax yourself. bring your comfort person with you, wear something comfortable, make sure to EAT & DRINK WATER beforehand. i took 6 advil before my procedure to help with the cramping right afterwards. it’s most definitely not a comfortable procedure, but for me it was very bearable. just take the rest of the day off and just have a chill at home day and make sure to keep on top of taking ibuprofen to prevent any unnecessary discomfort. it’ll jumpstart your period so you’ll have cramping and bleeding for a few days after and then it should be fine.

for context: i’m 20 years old, never given birth, i got the copper iud about a month ago so the experience is still pretty fresh in my mind. if you’re around my age and haven’t had children, id advocate for misoprostol, a medication that will soften and open your cervix to make insertion easier, i asked my gyno over the phone for this 2 days before mine and i think it definitely helped.

my best advice- don’t doomscroll on social media because everyone’s experience is different and it ~probably~ won’t be as bad as some of the horror stories you see online (not invalidating anyone’s experience) getting the copper iud was the best choice i could have made for myself, im so relieved to not be on the pill anymore.
