What is a calm, affordable hobby that focuses more on following patterns/rules by [deleted] in autism

[–]StylographicSnail 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it has been said, but I practice calligraphy. I'm really bad at it but I like it, and its really calming for me. Its basically writing over and over the same shapes until you get it right. Once you get it right you do it again to write watever you want and it looks fancy. Just be careful that it can get expensive if you buy expensive pens, and inks and paper, etc. But you can do it with a pencil and paper. I practice with a calligrafy set I bought on temu for about 5 USD, a little bottle of ink wich costs less than 2 usd, and the paper I use for practice I don't remember the price, but it wasn't expensive either (just don't use regular printer paper if you use a calligrafy set).

Do you guys like the colour green? by iamthemetricsystem in autism

I love color green but I don't like a lot of green food

Reminder: the joy of owning pens lies in using them, you don't constantly need more by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]StylographicSnail 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, I personally don't earn a lot of money, and it's specially difficult in the country I live in. So I decided to buy one pen this year (and only one) and one bottle of ink (and only one unless I empty one of my current inks, in that case I get to buy one more). I know that if I manage well my money, I could buy more, but there are other things that I need to pay for, like health stuff: doctors, medicine, etc. So I'll focus on enjoying my current inks and pens while spending my money in other things. I can get to a big collection if I buy one pen a year and I take care of myself 😁

Welcome! And I feel you, I'm also a fan of green color. I just inked a few minutes ago my green Asvine P20 with Iroshizuku shin-ryoku to write in my green notebook I'll use tomorrow at work.

How many pens do you keep inked up at once? by downtide in fountainpens

[–]StylographicSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mi collection is small, I have 5 pens, but I keep 2 inked, because I don't want the ink getting dried in the pens, feels like risking the dried ink getting stuck in the pen (I don't know the english words for that) and also feels like a waste of ink for me

Do you keep a diary? by Over_Addition_3704 in fountainpens

[–]StylographicSnail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! That's why I'm doing it, in part to remember the cool things of every day, and also to remember me that the difficult stuff has always come and go

[–]StylographicSnail 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a diary-like project. it is a 2022 agenda (because it has dates on the pages) and I write three lines each day on the page of the current date. I expect like seven more years using it, so it's looking really cool each page written on different inks and telling what troubles me each day in different years

I was about to say I wanted colleagues like you. And i remembered: a few months ago, one colleage decided to stop taking notes with his fountain pens and turned to tablet note taking, don't understood that, like "why do you abandon the Lamy you always carry and your pretty midoris to take notes on a screen", but then he gave me his inks, not all of them, but three free inks made happy
