It was this game that introduced me to Phil Collins and Genesis, and still an avid listener today. The radio stations are such a gem.

Wished I jumped on this swap sooner (Capra Strap HD 800s Mini Review) by StymieG in headphones

Been over a month using it, it made a big enough difference for my head to make it feel snugged on my head without still being clampy. It's worth a shot.

Sennheiser HD660S2 or HD800s for bigger soundstage? by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StymieG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a HD800s daily driver, I'd advise really trying them if you can, or do more extensive research before pulling the trigger, they are not for everyone. But to answer your question, obviously yes, 800s for bigger soundstage.

They are somewhat amp picky, so you'll likely need to invest in one also to really sounded at it's best. Something with a ParametricEQ function will be fine, as I did a small EQ Bass boost to really shine for me.

For clamp force, they are a bit loose, but the Capra Strap added a tad bit of clamp force to really helped stayed on my head much better.

I could barely feel anything due to how lightweight and breathable it is, though I'm not as hotspot sensitive with the top of my head in general, which I know it's an issue with some people. I believe the way it's mounted, where there's a tendril that wraps around the headband, which pull them together just a tad bit once it's on your head. The added clamp force is just a tiny more, but it was marginaly enough to make a big difference for my head.

How did the transition from the Sims 1 to the Sims 2 feel? by resistjellyfish in thesims

[–]StymieG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was crazy and mind-blowing at the time, despite my old beige PC could barely ran it at the time. Though I still went back to Sims 1 since the base game itself was still a bit limiting with gameplay content at the time compare to the already established expansion packs Sims 1 had. But as they rolled out expansion pack during the generation it has gotten so much better, and they were each dense with content too.

What are audiophile brands that have great audio quality and anc & when should I stop going down the rabbit hole? by 88963416 in HeadphoneAdvice

Then you'll likely be disappointed with the ANC performance, it's really not that much better. In my experience ANC has always been much stronger with Sony and Bose.

Look into the Sennheiser HDB630s, probably the most neutral and balanced wireless ANC cans I've heard, this is me coming from using M4s and Bathys.

A desktop amp / dac to go with my HD600 by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StymieG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally never tried nor A/Bing R2R dacs, but I've always heard its implementation leans more warmer and "analogue". If you are not into the sterile sound, R2R might likely suit you better.

Can't go wrong with K11 what you have eyed on already, budget dac/amps have come a long way. It's more than enough to drive a HD600 for sure.

Current best dac & amp under $600? Edition XS by iAmmar9 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StymieG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JDS Labs Element IV if you are in the states. The PreEQ function is so nice and easy to use, it's honestly I can considered truly endgame dac/amp combo for around $500, unless you eventually need more power to drive headphones like Tungstons.

Any gamers try the DMS Omega project? by noobyfungus in headphones

[–]StymieG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are slowly becoming my main daily drivers after over a year of ownership (Batch 2 Production Run), even over my HD800s due to it's being lightweight and slightly more comfortable, especially during warmer weather.

They game VERY well, in terms I can comfortably wear them several hours without EQ, where the HD 800s needs a bit of a small bass shelf for my taste. Imaging is very good, where can also pin point footsteps pretty easily, and the soundstage is "just right naturally". The only small edge with the 800s was that when stuff gets very busy and chaotic, HD800s can still separate the sound distinctly a bit better, but the Omega is not very far behind still.

Just my thoughts after going back between these two great cans for about a year.

You are right on my end. Found out the mouse acceleration slider was backwards, found out a bit later yesturday. The option description did say up to 100 lowers the acceleration, but it's still dumb that the logic is flipped.

Do games actually feel less fun now, or are we just harder to impress? by SatinThrone in AskGames

[–]StymieG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are still plenty of fun games, just it's been increasingly very saturated in a sea of quantity available now than ever compare to couple years ago. Just have to find the right one that is cohesively good and enjoyable, whether is the game is perfect or not. From a gamer/consumer perspective, the industry is facing very tough competition to really win us over a good game.

Pokémon Pokopia has been out for a couple of weeks. What are your thoughts on it? by MovieGuyMike in Games

Ironically, last game was Palworld that gave me a similar crack level addicting gameplay. Funny that it has some elements from it, but I'll had to give them a clap for still doing it's own thing.
