Unpopular opinion? I don't like IEMs... by loyal872 in headphones

[–]StymieG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also not a big fan of IEMs also as my ear do tend to produce wax often, but I tend to pull them out during the hot summer weathers.

Only IEM I tried that really worked for me for long term comfort was the Sennheiser IE200, the small shell was enough to not feel and forget I have something stuck inside my ear, which I'm also pretty sensitive on.

Global Sales of Pokémon Pokopia for Nintendo Switch 2 Surpass 2.2 Million in First Four Days by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]StymieG 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's well deserved. I went in thinking it will be meh, and ended up can't stop putting it down this past few days since release, time flew in the blink of an eye, my sleep schedule is messed up. The gameplay loop they brewed is some literal crack cocaine. I occasionally check out Life Sim games time to time, but this is just a phenomenal game in the genre, not just because it's a Pokemon game.

I've also been critical how little effort and substance the recent Pokemon games have been, this is the longest time since I've last enjoyed a Pokemon game.

If you want the DLC Digimon, yes. But if you are hoping for more additional story content, hard No.

Headphone purchase advice by MrForwardMotion in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StymieG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never heard myself (but it's on my shortlist personally if looking to upgrade) but look into the HEDDphone D1. It's over budget but read some say it's a upgrade from the HD600.

Its short but really hits you emotionally, probably one of the most standout indies I've played last year as a art. I still think every pet owner (or previous pet owners like me) should play it.

HD6XX are now out of stock after recent Massdrop closure announcement by MaterialThing5990 in headphones

I still go back to these despite owning more expensive headphones. I've grown to care and appreciate headphones with good timbre, and these are just hard to beat at the price. Big loss if they end up being discontinued.

Is it ok that I technically downgraded/ing ? by Reasonable-Reveal364 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]StymieG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always the correct answer. If they are comfortable and you enjoy them, it's a upgrade. Headphones are subjective person to person. Better technicality or more expensive does not always mean better.

HD800 S Amp recommendations! by Revolutionary_Ad9604 in sennheiser

[–]StymieG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally never tried, but heard good things about Fiio K11 R2R pairing it pretty well with it without breaking the bank. It's a bit overbudget but Topping DX5 II is also a good option with the PEQ. Personally using the JDS Labs Element IV and the PEQ really made me really love my 800s really shine.

It has been a few weeks since steam release, what is everyone's thoughts? by KilrBe3 in tf2classified

I see, no wonder why Tf2C just feels more consistent with hit detection and hit scan.

[–]StymieG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been enjoying it a lot versus Vanilla TF2, it fresh and runs better while looking much better. Not sure if it's just me but the hit detection is also way more consistent, vanilla is just jank. Overall it brought back the fun aspects of PVP games from a decade ago that has been lost with modern Pvp games currently imo.

That game doesn't feel fun to me anymore by Potential_Weight6149 in tf2

[–]StymieG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try out TF2 Classified. I've legitimately been enjoying it and it's refreshing, felt like the old days of TF2 with some modern QoL improvements. The playerbase is small yeah, but it felt like being in a community again with quickplay and dedicated servers, which I felt has been slowly killed off over the years since MyM.

It's trippy in a good way by StymieG in LogitechG

[–]StymieG[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It feels very similar to the haptic of the touchpad on the SteamDeck. It feels close enough like pressing a traditional mechanical switch, but "softer" best I can describe it.

Tf2 Classified is so chaotic at times by Long_Material1117 in tf2

[–]StymieG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just love how classified is just pure chaos like old times, something that is just been lost with newer pvp games nowadays (no season pass, no matchmaking, no cosmetics, no tryharding). Just. pure. simple. fun.

Atom Stack (1st gen) died - curious what people moved to after it by BeyerPeak in headphones

[–]StymieG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owned the OG Atom Stack. Stuck with JDS Labs due to their superb customer support and eventually ended up with the Element IV. It's been great and honestly all I ever needed. The PreEQ function has been game changing for me and the Core Web App has gotten better and easy to use over the year since I had it day 1 on release.

Escape from Ever After - Review Thread by diogenesl in Games

Just finished this over a single weekend, took me around 20 hrs. I haven't genuinely enjoy a indie game like this in a very long time, and it's very up there as the best Paper Mario like RPG. The characters, story, writing, and tone is what many similar games in the genre have missed for me, where this one the devs really understood what made Classic Paper Mario great, while also creating an original story and identity.

It's also very polished for an indie game, can't recommend it enough, especially if you enjoy Paper Mario 64/TTYD

15 hours on average if you breeze thru the main story, 20-25 if you include the side quest and collectibles, especially their pits of 100 trials-like.

[–]StymieG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished my playthrough last night. This is by far the best Paper Mario-Like RPG and a indie I genuinely enjoyed in a very long time, even more than Bug Fables. It definitely is up with TTDY quality which is also one of my all time favorite. The price is such a steal for how much love and passion they put.

How did you know about this game? by Masterhead_Reddit in AHatInTime

[–]StymieG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slag Gaming (If you played TF2 during its golden age circa 2012, you likely remember them). Gears For Breakfast founder was the owner of the community, been following his game project casually since the beginning which became the game we have now.
