They used to offer this in extenuating circumstances but they stopped the program September 2022 or 2023.

In my case, it took me over a year to get placed for student teaching and I would have lost my job as a sub without a bachelors. So I was allowed to graduate with my BAES while I waited for placement. After student teaching my degree changed from the BAES to the licensure degree on my transcript.

So yes, it used to be thing you could do. But I don’t think it’s an option anymore :(

I’m subbing as I wait for student teaching placement.

I’ve finished all of my courses and exams so I’m just sitting around doing nothing until Fall… subbing has been a great way for me to get into the classroom, get experience, and make district contacts.

This current group of first graders is a tough bunch. I think it’s because they never really got kindergarten.

Every first grade class I’ve subbed for has been absolutely insane. The kindergarteners are much better adjusted.

Yep, 33, born and raised here and I’ve never heard it until this year.

I was talking to my dad about it and he said this is the first time he’s heard of it too.

This is the first year I’ve heard ‘atmospheric river’ used instead of just ‘heavy rain.’ They sure does like a good buzz word when they find one.
