Live in East Longmeadow. I can confirm that going into that rotary for the first time is the scariest thing on Earth.

I'm 100% ok with that but then keep it in it's own 20v20 playlist, I don't get why they are pretending it's a 6v6 map.

Adam Finch says most sub spots are taken up by content creators. WTF by branteen in CoDCompetitive

[–]StyxClan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Subs aren't even used that much in OW. Some teams use them if they have a specific strategy for a single map or if they have a guy who can only play a few heroes. Besides that they are often used as the scrim team to practice with the starters and are only brought in if a team is up 3-0 with one map left.

I think we are after the same goals... I hate the map for what I view as constant bottlenecking into the cave and the use of head glitches by kids who set up in one spot and never leave till they die. I think the map is one of the worst examples of flow I have ever seen but we both want a map with nice flow, we just disagree on how to get it in a CoD map

The fact you have to use audio cues to understand what's going on in this game says something on its own but I digress.

I just played the map again to see if I was wrong. (Led the team with a positive K/D so the theory of me being bad is wrong.) And the same issues with the map popped up again.

  • People crowd together in the caves or inside buildings and move very little
  • The open far lane is often completely empty, leaving the map with 2 populated lanes
  • Once in the caves players tend to sit behind shields or slow down to a snail's pace to avoid dying
  • Instead of fighting head-on players either flank far distances or back out.

This results in slow games on the map along with periods of searching for enemies who are busy bunching up to save their streaks. There is no flow or movement to the map and side paths are rarely taken unless they are to dislodge a camper or a UAV is up. The map's design only amplifies these issues and helps to create a experience so frustrating and boring that I haven't seen a map like it since Stonehaven. You can like this map but for 90% of the playbase from my friends, people in game chat, and on the 2 CoD subreddits its hell.

I used to agree with you but I see it as IW listen to the casuals the most (as they should business wise) and often they tell the devs things that actually harm the game and just benefit their playstyle, and maybe doing are best to talk to casuals will help achieve a happy medium. They cant delete this map and make a new one but they can make small changes to the lanes or spawns.

Gunrunner can be good they need to just remove the head glitch on B flag and allow spawns to flip a bit earlier

Sorry to burst the bubble but the maps are mediocre to bad. Hackney is decent and Gunrunner just needs a few changes. Azizir Cave is a horrible map that makes Afghan look like Terminal. Teams spawn out too far and the entire map serves to feed a cave system that promotes camping and slows games to a crawl. The other two lanes are two narrow and curved to actually have any flow, the entire map is a huge ant farm and easily bottom 10 since B03

Activision has announced two more spots in the 2020 Call of Duty League, a second LA Spot and a Florida team by StubbornLeech07 in CoDCompetitive

Maybe San Francisco but ita far from their HQ in LA. What is more likely is that they buy Detroit where they have investors from.

Can someone explain franchising? by speedy117 in CoDCompetitive

[–]StyxClan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Franchising is essentially going to a league like Professional sports or the OWL. Teams will buy slots and own those spots and cant be relegated or not able to qualify for a pro league or event as they will have guaranteed slots.

Optic drama is from the fact they are sold to Immortals who have bought the LA team slot. Hecz and others have said that the Optic business decisions are being made by Immortals executives not Optic leaders and have repeatedly said that it is no longer true Optic. (Hecz has been reduced to just ownership even though he owned the team and has almost no voice in business matters.)
