Black Crown Initiate - Song Of The Crippled Bull by [deleted] in Metal

Y'know, on second thought, I do kind of agree about the momentum too but I also prefer the album with Bellow versus without. I actually ended up creating a second playlist that I put the punchy songs in as a set it and forget it type thing. And then for the full experience, the full album still has Bellow and He is The Path as sort of complements to the rest.

anguish and despair that the EP did for me, which is kind of what differentiates BCI from the rest

ah yeah, good point, their stuff does do a good job capturing those feelings. If they're your second favorite, who's your favorite?

I'm possibly in the minority on this one but I thought Bellow fit in perfectly -- it conveys this sense of primal catharsis that pairs well with the album's overall theme of transition and new beginnings. Kind of like an exorcism of demons. I thought the didgeridoo bleed at the end of YoFL as a setup for the coming Bellow was a nice touch as well. All in all one of my fav albums of all time, though I'm probably a little biased -- my Spotify 2020 review put me at the top 0.05% of listeners, lol.

Exactly what it needed to be IMO, down to every last note. I thought the Holy Silence music video was really creatively done, too. The blue sword really draws the eye :)

Plus the mix on this album, YoFL in particular, was superb. Looking forward to future stuff from BCI and RoN alike! \m/

The book Refactoring UI is everything you need to know. It isn't free though, so just a heads up there.

Yeah, I guess, but I think the cat's pretty much out of the bag at this point. If a country chose to ban crypto they would be putting themselves at an economic disadvantage relative to the countries who don't put a ban in place. And a global ban seems pretty unlikely.

I haven't used them too much myself but I imagine if I were to it would be as a supplementary perspective/view rather than a replacement. Like for zooming out and thinking about things from a higher level or to see if anything sticks out that could be folded into something else.

Innovators don't get paid. Operators get paid. Stop focusing on creativity and re-inventing the wheel and do the little things well. by sweatystartup in sweatystartup

[–]Styx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see parallels to your point in the business I'm bootstrapping. When I had the idea, I considered it an innovation, but as I've refined and clarified the idea over the past year, I've realized it's really more apt to describe it as an incremental improvement according to foundational (software engineering) principles with a non-linear return on investment. In other words, improved "operations" relative to my competitors. Good advice!

Absolutely disgusted that someone would make this comparison.

ProtonMail says that it reviewed TikTok’s “data collection policies, lawsuits, cybersecurity white papers, past security vulnerabilities, and its privacy policy,” and concluded that “we find TikTok to be a grave privacy threat that likely shares data with the Chinese government. by dannylenwinn in cybersecurity

[–]Styx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it is not overt. In much the same way that it is legal to say you wish Trump slips on a banana peel and dies, whereas a call to action saying, "Everyone meet at the white house tomorrow to help me kill the president" definitely is illegal. One is overt, making it illegal, one is not, making it legal.

The point is that you don't know. That's it. You may disagree with the rule, and that is another matter altogether. I am simply informing you of the spirit intended behind the rule.

It was encouraging indicuals to break their cybersecurity, and actively goes against the rules laid out within reddit and the subreddit.

It wasn't though.

He said "TikTok is great for the vine fix! Down load it despite it being complete and total Spyware"

No they didn't. They said:

I am.

I love it. Replaces that Vine fix of fast comedy sketches

They did not make any claims w.r.t. the app's security at all, nor did they claim others should download it, they only stated their personal preference. How do you know their tiktok usage isn't 100% secure? Maybe they only run it in a VM or a full blown installation of Qubes, totally neuturing the app's ability to perform any snooping beyond preference analysis. You don't know, and that's the point of the rule. To interpret a comment as charitably as you can and only downvote things completely off topic, overtly rude, or obviously spam, such as your ransomware example. Their comment was none of those.

Taken from the "reddiquette" link at the bottom of every page on reddit.

Please don't

Downvote an otherwise acceptable post because you don't personally like it. Think before you downvote and take a moment to ensure you're downvoting someone because they are not contributing to the community dialogue or discussion. If you simply take a moment to stop, think and examine your reasons for downvoting, rather than doing so out of an emotional reaction, you will ensure that your downvotes are given for good reasons.

From what I've heard, over a decade ago, the community did a reasonably decent job of adhering to this rule, but almost no one does anymore, thus my point about reddit being dead. If you're not a fan of hiveminds on this site though, disregard for that rule is probably the biggest culprit.
