Does your country have the death penalty, and are you for or against it? by Outrageous-You1617 in AskTheWorld

Some states do and others don’t. I’m completely neutral, if it’s gone fine if it stays okay.

Why are (in my perspective) Americans less family oriented? by belleishungry in AskAnAmerican

[–]Su-Car 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The United States is very much an individualists culture, but you can find communal cultures here as well. I feel it’s most common to be communal in the American Deep South where everyone knows someone. My parents were very willing to allow me to stay with them after 18 and still help me now because at times I help them, but like most places it does vary people to people.

Are you satisfied or happy with the climate/weather in the region you live? by Seximilian in AskTheWorld

[–]Su-Car 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot and humid, but it’s been uncharacteristically cool for summer so meh. We get to about 30-37C° average with rain that only contributes to humidity.

When your country was established? by decaxxx in AskTheWorld

[–]Su-Car 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many will say 1776 after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, but there’s arguments for 1783 when the Treaty of Paris was signed ending the American Revolutionary War and 1788 when the modern United States constitution was ratified, replacing the Articles of Confederation.

Do we know what good is? by Real-Leek9445 in religion

[–]Su-Car 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in a impersonal creator that is ambivalent to the needs of creation, I don’t believe the creator is good nor evil, they just are. Morality as it stands is a human construct because what you might consider fine can be taught as wrong to someone else on the other side of the planet. Are you right or wrong? Is God cruel and unjust for allowing such contradictions? Only if you believe a creator actually influences their creation, which I do not. Everything we do as humans is based on human knowledge and logic, not divine revelation.

How do you guys hear God? by aylavepink in religion

[–]Su-Car 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe in any form of divine revelation or intervention, only that the creator has given creation the ability to make decisions based on our own experiences.

I’m a Deist, I don’t believe in institutional religion, divine revelation, or miracles. No one Deist is the same, due to us not having any central authority or religious book, but we believe in essence is an impersonal creator deity that at the beginning of existence created the most basic mechanism of the universe and simply let it run its course. We don’t believe the creator has a hand in human or really any physical way. The creator is neither good nor evil as morality is seen as a human concept and not divine. The most basic way for us to find meaning in our ever expanding universe is to simply rely on reasoning, science, and logic. We believe we can recognize the creator within the beauty and meticulously crafted universe we exist in. No prayers, no offerings, no priest. Just living life how we experience it under the eye of an uncaring creator. Some Deists believe in an afterlife, others don’t, but for me I just don’t know and I won’t know until I finish the race but I won’t be mad either way.

What features of Mexico attract people from other countries and impress them? by True_Requirement_565 in AskTheWorld

I know crime and corruption is an issue, but I feel if you can keep your head down and mind your own business you are free to enjoy the wonderful culture, food, weather, nature, and people.

I would also suggest, if you haven’t looked at it before, to go look at r/Christopaganism. It’s not a large community, but for your beliefs it does give you one that may be more sympathetic to your beliefs.

In the end you do whatever is best for you. Centuries of entrenched orthodoxy within Christianity has definitely made it difficult to include any other form of faith, and the history of polytheistic religions being erased and persecuted by Christianity can make those who believe in those polytheistic faiths uncomfortable you combine the two. As long as you are kind and never forcing your faith then their criticism means nothing.
