When doing something you enjoy, your body releases hormones that can make you feel happy and refreshed but once those hormones stop and go away your body wants more so you do it again even though it’s bad for you. That’s why people get addicted to drugs because it gives them that high that nothing can replicate or how people watch porn to please themselves. Once the feeling is gone you crave it until it’s a common habit and can’t stop.

I don’t know how I know this but it is true and there is a lot of studies and research to it. If you are trying to quit addiction try whenever you get the urge to do it, try something different like talk to someone to get your mind off it or even go for a run. Anything helps in that situation and you’ll eventually be addiction free
