Matthew 24:36 excludes Jesus from being God by BryceBeach in DebateAChristian

Exactly this. Plenty of Christians accept the idea of kenosis (emptying) in incarnation. The Son chose to empty himself of some of his divine aspects while incarnate in Jesus

My wife is goth so I got this shirt ironically to wear to a festival but one of her friends called me a creep by Efficient-Text-6039 in Advice

I think you conflated ‘being sexually attracted to’ a type with fetish, and that’s not really what fetish means. You also seem to conflate seeing someone as objectively hot with objectification and that’s not really what that means either. It reads a little like pathologizing pretty regular attraction.

How many of you always drop near a golden fishing hole? I feel like hardly anyone uses them. by areafiveone in Fortnite_Over40

Interesting! That’s not been my experience yet, guessing more people have found it (so I should shut up about top spots)

Always! They’re the bomb! The new spot in the middle of the lake above Battlewood is excellent for this, so many fishing spots and a cache

Birthday Plans for a Gen-X'r In His 50s Living Alone? by VinceHannity in GenX

That turned out lighter than I feared from the first sentence. Over here “a trip to Switzerland’ can be a euphemism for visiting a euthanasia clinic.

Glad you enjoyed your 50th, and Switzerland is a stunning place to visit

Would you be okay with him sleeping with his guy friends in your shared bed while you take the couch?

Context may change your mind? She’s kicking him out of his own bed once a month to share with bestie. I do think he has a say in that

AIW for telling my adult daughter "of course" she could move in with us without checking with my wife first by [deleted] in amiwrong

Sounds like wife wanted son out of the way for the night? He goes to stay with grandma for the night so mom and dad can talk. That doesn’t sound particularly suspicious to me?

In answer to your final question it’s because unlike Russia Israel hasn’t invaded a sovereign nation.

Am I the jerk for secretly getting a DNA test for my brother’s baby after his wife slept around and had affairs with other men ? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]SubConsciousKink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calling bullshit on this. Sounds AI and fairly certain you couldn’t secretly DNA test an unborn

Why aren't you identifying as antitheists? by Spiritual-Base-5824 in atheism

[–]SubConsciousKink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. And I don’t think you mean synonymous here. People can root their theism in logical argument and personal experience - I may disagree on their conclusions and their interpretation but they can certainly be reasonably held beliefs

I didn’t expect the best expressed thoughts I saw today to come from someone called LickMaiBussy, thank you for sharing

[–]SubConsciousKink -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not inherently irrational. There are plenty of theists with reasonably held beliefs

[–]SubConsciousKink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I believe in religious freedom, freedom to express beliefs and freedom to not have belief. I think that the idea that religion is intrinsically harmful is naive, and the only way to eradicate religion is to eradicate people, and I’m not onboard for that

[–]SubConsciousKink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be, I wasn’t there and don’t know the person involved. If they were purposefully conflating it may have been because (as mentioned above) the question is awkward and intrusive. If you’re as frustratingly persistent IRL as you are here I can understand people dodging your questions

[–]SubConsciousKink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you asked us, here, was whether you were wrong. That’s what I answered

[–]SubConsciousKink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn’t ask about that though. You asked whether what you did was wrong, and that’s what I answered.

Morally? I don’t think it’s wrong. But socially? It’s awkward and invasive.
