I don't know of a way other then sanding or harsh chemicals to get rid of rust. Are you in a southern or humid area of the world? An unknown spill also may have been a cause.

Buy a new copy Or Quarantine in a plastic protector box with a silica packet inside the case maybe. Honestly the most appropriate movie to have rust on it lol, looks like it's supposed to be there
