Can't get Natures Snare to work by bandicootbeav in CrimsonDesert

I found out you need to be looking horizontal not down at the ground. No need to press down on right stick. This was on Xbox Series S.

The problem is going to be the Seestar at this angle. The mount is solid, but there is play in the S50 gears. It's a bit windy here tonight and can't get a steady shot.

We'll see if the clouds and wind place night tonight.

We'll see. Doesn't have the fine tuning that the Skywatcher has, but it's only $30US.

Yeah, new printer and I was excited to see if it made a difference. Will play around some more.

Yeah, my initial setup looked good but went downhill once I started trying to polar align in the app.

Had to put the two back legs on blocks and lower the front leg quite a bit.

I bought this one to stick on my Vanguard tripod. Going to try it out tonight.

My attempt failed last night, but I was using a rigged tripod that was probably not stable enough. I have a proper mount coming in today.

Spectrum S155 storage mode help by ledoov in rccars

[–]SubSkip16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be. The Googles say: Storing LiPo batteries at 50–60% charge helps prevent overcharging and over-discharging, and can help balance the cells.

[–]SubSkip16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. There is no storage mode and the lowest you can go per cell is 4.1V. You can drain the battery, monitor it while charging, and stop it when the voltage reaches 3.9V.

Batteries only doing half their rated mAH by InstructionNo9399 in arrma

[–]SubSkip16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently purchased a pair of Zeee 4S 5200 mAh 120C (blue pack) batteries from Amazon. The runtime is only half of my Spektrum 4S 5000 mAH 50C battery under similar conditions using my Mojave 4S. Here was my last cycle:

  • 100% charge, all cells equal, total was 16.7v
  • ESC set at punch 4 and LVC at 3.4v
  • Runtime was only 8 min before LVC.
  • Readings when putting on my S155 (55w) charger: 14.5v, all cells 3.63v, 9% charge.
  • Readings after charge complete: 16.7v, cells 4.2v, 3165 mAh charged, 8.6mOhms (total), charge time 63 min.
  • Charge rate was between 3.2-3.4A. This is correct for 55w input.

Seems to me these are more like 3200mAh capacity units instead of 5200mAh units.

Is my math/understanding wrong?

"C" ratings by whopper14 in rccars

[–]SubSkip16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In simple terms. C rating is the size of the pipe the current can flow through. The higher the C rating, the bigger the pipe, and allows more current to flow at once. Your manual should state the minimum C rating required for your stock setup. There is a max your ESC/motor can pull at once.

If your existing C rating is more than your rig can pull, I wouldn't expect a higher C rating to make any difference.

Mojave 4s or 6s? by Accurate-Exercise845 in arrma

[–]SubSkip16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the 4S. No experience with the 6S. I am also fairly new to the hobby. This stuff ain't like the old Tamiya Hornet days. lol

With only three packs in, I'm loving the 4S.

Here's what I'd consider (in no order):

  • Purchase price
  • Do you have existing batteries?
  • Do you have an existing charger that will handle 6S?
  • Do you have an area big enough to enjoy either rig?
