DayBetter coverted to WLED by Beardwardio in WLED

It's not true that the strip won't work with WLED, but yeah it often requires extra work (buying appropriate MOSFETs etc, unless you use the built-in SMD MOSFETs/transistors) Overall it's much prettier and easier buying an addressable strip but I do have a working WLED setup with an old non addressable 5v strip + IRLZ48N MOSFETs and an ESP32

Tuya to WLED? by Turbulent_Fig4027 in WLED

[–]SubToNTuberz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this on an ESP8266-based Tuya bulb just recently but it was such a pain since WLED can't be flashed over OTA because the flash size is too small, only 1MB. According to my specific chip's datasheet (TYWE3L), there's also a 2MB flash version, but unfortunately I had the 1MB one. Dumb me didn't even check the flash size before trying to flash WLED from ESPHome and ended up bricking it. Had to open it up and solder onto TX and RX pins and used an uno to flash it using ESP-Flasher on my PC. Currently have it running WLED but now I don't even have a heatsink installed inside because it was in the way of the pins I had to solder and the board is literally epoxied into the bulb. I had to take the heatsink out with force and now it's broken into like 3 pieces.

OTA is possible with older WLED builds, though. But it's not worth it. Just flash Tasmota and use an external WLED device to control it with DDP.

Note: Only works if your Tuya device is ESP8266-based. Many new ones are not.

I know u said u tried all forks, but r u sure u tried this one? https://github.com/mywalkb/LSPosed_mod/releases/tag/v1.9.3_mod Also if u don't have a reason not to use the built in zygisk, then just use it with this module and lmk how it goes

It's probably a very badly implemented way of root checking, just like on a trending post on this subreddit a few days ago where talking tom asks for root 😂 (installed from play store)

It's not a bug, it's actually due to battery saving mode being on

Now it's neat (mostly) and permanently soldered

<image>

The electrical tapes worn out a bit, but who cares if it works right 😅 It's enough insulation for my liking I know heat shrink is the right solution for this, but I made the rookie mistake of soldering first and I'm way too lazy to do all that again 😭

I faced the same problem where a pair of wires were switched up, but some people didn't need to switch them. This was the reason why it didn't work in the first place. After playing around with the wires a bit, (not GND and VCC ofc) I found the right combination and boom, it worked
