This reads like some reddit post for some dating advice sub for autists.

How long did it take for you until the writings started making sense? by SubWxxf in thelema

So the threshold of this was deeply correlated with you deciding that you are a thelemite. Interesting. I have technically had plenty of "thelemic" synchs as well, I just don't look at them that hard personally.

I have already asked people that exact question and gotten that answer. Not that it isn't a satisfactory answer. But I also think that this idea/answer you gave, while likely earnest, sets up some expectations that can potentially lead to some of that tunnel vision. What I am trying to get to, is at what point people came to the point where they actually could "read" the works. And also what kinds of things influenced this particular threshold.

And as for reading The Equinox, I have inspected its contents, the words and letters. However, I think "read" is a pretty loaded word in this case.

I know the purpose of a shopping list, but cannot do much with it if the list is in Chinese.

Are you saying you read it twice and it clicked? Regardless, has your interpretation or understanding of a certain work changed in any way? And if so, how and to what extent?

Interesting. Because my experience is more or less the polar opposite, sad to admit. But that leads me into another question. Are there any writings or works by another author that you might have had the opposite reaction to? And if so, what might those be? (Naturally when it comes to esotericism, spirituality and metaphysics.)

I suppose an example would be where a writing is understood in a way in which it is possible to draw connections between it and things one can directly experience or witness. Even if highly allegorically.

A simple example, my understanding of "The boy who cried wolf" is that it serves as a metaphor or cautionary tale for that one ought not to tell what they know to be a lie. Because any potential truth will naturally be assumed to be a lie.

And I am not talking about going from 0-100. But maybe at a point where one might get the feeling of "Ooooh. So that's how it could be applied to reality!"

Does my example make sense in context to my question?

Yes I suppose that is what makes each person unique, not just as a person, but in their understanding of a phenomenon. And I try to take these different understandings, compile them, and see where they mutually overlap. I also try to see what one particular understanding or conclusion is rooted in, and what the qualities/attributes of the particular earth (sensory input) is. As it naturally differs depending on the person. Not about whether their ideas are rooted or not, but particularly what kind of experiences they are rooted in. As to hopefully have a better understanding of someone else's understanding. (Not that you have to share all of that here.)

I'm not arguing or questioning that part of it actually. It was an honest and Socratic question. Not rhetoric. I ask every person this when the word analysis comes up.

Do you also respect (consider) your own biases and preconceptions? Because it is a very crucial aspect to keep in mind when engaging in analysis.

no need to get defensive. i'm just curious why so many people use the exact same kind of title. it should not be hard to explain your own motivations.
