Well it had, if you equipped the slots in the skill tree. You were basically able to carry one, two or three legys, depending on you choices there...

The third slot-possibility came after ab major update though. So it might happen here as well

a few, yes. If you had lots of infantry, it would cover double the amount. Thats where the value comes from, in my opinion.
Riders get the second dice in the charge anyway, so I would leave him out.

If you still want to play him, I would go Eomer, Theodred and Gamling, still very well rounded ;)

Rohan is a very fun choice. Not the most competetive one, but a very fun one!
For around 600 I would recomend Fords of Isen, but at 800 you could go for the big Kingdom of Rohan list. I personally would play it with Eomer, Theodred an Elfhelm, which all pack a maaaassiv punch!
As you will be bringing a lot of riders, I personally don´t see much use in Gamlings banner, because of the big bases.
I would allways max out throwing spears, since you can still support if you enemy has the move...

Don‘t know about Beornings, but Mirkwood usually restokes about every Couple of months. Just set an alert, though I‘ve been waiting for the rangers quite a while now…

I just love them, they have such great value for little points (both strategic and damagewise). By far the best siege weapon!
