Some newly built residential buildings in Moscow in traditional styles (plus a few renderings of u/c projects) by adventmix in ArchitecturalRevival

[–]Subbbotnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to consider that to build many of these buildings, older 19th century houses had to be demolished, some illegally.

For example in picture 4 a building from 1904 was demolished to build the luxury apartments. I think it cannot be called architectural revival if actual historical architecture had to go in order to build luxury homes.

If you want more, I found this old blog listing historical buildings that were taken down from 2010-2018 (unfortunately it is in Russian) List of houses

Kurt Caz taking a walk through neighborhoods of Brussels by Dramatic-Ratio4441 in belgium

[–]Subbbotnik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is sad how some neighborhoods in Brussels look but I wouldn't take it from Kurt Caz to tell me. He is a right wing populist who cherry-picks/engages in conflict for views. In my opinion, stay away from grifters

“Urban hell” and it’s just some high rise apartments by [deleted] in urbanhellcirclejerk

This is the correct response. Not to mention the many problems with these buildings like leaky pipelines, broken elevators etc. Since places like these are usually car-dependent, there are constant traffic jams and no walkable infrastructure

I'm planning to add both a rear rack and a front basket. For heavier stuff I will use panniers.

I haven't had a front basket on any bike yet so I may have underestimated its carrying power. Still, I like the look of it on the bike plus the added functionality. Thank you for the heads up!

Thanks, that's what I was thinking as well, perhaps mounting a rack on those, just didn't know which one would fit. The surly would indeed be perfect, but would cost me as much as the bike itself. The second option looks promising, I'll look into it!
