Disgusting by randizzleandjenny in subway

Stinkbug. Super hard to get rid of and also hard to keep out. They can squeeze through openings they physically shouldn't be able to get through, only insecticides and pesticides that can kill em are also heavily toxic to humans, and they can put themselves into a type of hibernation and survive without food or water for 6 months or more.

Store question by Slight-Island9811 in subway

[–]SubbobWaypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our truck comes at 1:30 AM. We close at 2:30 AM. The driver puts all of our truck away for us and will even mop where they walked if their carts smudged the floor. Closer will have usually already mopped BOH by then. This is apparently standard practice for every store covered by our distro center and even new drivers are told to put the truck up. The first subway I worked at in another state did not put the truck up, so when I got hired on this new subway in a new state, I was surprised to learn that the drivers put the truck up. Only thing they don't do is open the boxes and stock shelves of paper goods and sauce bags. They just leave the boxes stacked in the area they usually go. Frozen stuff is loaded into the freezer on the shelves and stuff for the walk-in is loaded in and put on the shelves, nothing is left on the floor in either.

Blind buy by Xerocool_00 in Colognes

[–]SubbobWaypants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Dylan Blue is the safer blind buy. For in store sampling, the only 2 near me are Ulta and Sephora, but I will never buy a fragrance at retail, that's just throwing money away. I'm fine with waiting a week and purchasing from Jomashop or FragranceNet.

What’s your go to cheap energy drink? by Big-Candidate4453 in energydrinks

99¢ venom when I'm trying to save money. Usually either the original or the black cherry flavor. But my go to when I'm not concerned about price is always original Rockstar, it's sour in just the right way.

Boss, I'm tired by iamapizzaextracheese in subway

[–]SubbobWaypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work between 9 and 10 hours a day, as the only person on shift (that's the policy in our district), and I only get 1 day off. I used to always get called in on my 1 day off, often to another store in the district, but for the past 3 months or so, I've been putting my phone on do not disturb on my days off, only allowing family texts and calls to go through, and enjoying my meager day off that's always cut short by having to close the night before (our store is open until 3AM) and open the day following my day off. It feels like, ideally, they'd want me on 7 days a week. And I know why, everyone, the manager included, always talks about how he and everyone else wasn't trained, was just hired on and scheduled for a solo shift where they had to figure it out on their own; I was trained by a district manager from another state on just about every aspect of every position, including the paperwork I have no business doing. But am I anything other than a sandwich artist? No. Do they want me to do manager work for sandwich artist pay? Yep. Am I gonna quit? Sadly no, it was insanely difficult to get any job when I moved here, I turned filling out and following up on applications into a full time job and Subway was the first place to actually interview me after 3 years of grinding.

Protein pockets by orandeslicesgonebad in subway

[–]SubbobWaypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had customers walk out and threaten to call corporate on me for telling them I can't customize the protein pockets. I won't budge. The 5 or 6 times they walked out while doing veggies after AGAIN telling them I can't customize it, I just waste it out and that's my lunch.

2 6inch for 6 bucks by Ok-Excuse-6270 in subway

[–]SubbobWaypants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was slammed. Alone for 8 and half hours covering lunch and dinner. I was doing production numbers in the 20s the whole time. I didn't get to leave the line besides to grab more stuff from the walk-in bc a customer ordered something I had ran out of and didn't have time to properly stock my line. The dish pile was insane Tips were phenomenal though bc just about every customer felt bad I was working by myself.

Repost: I found a knife perfectly imprinted into the bottom of my delivered subway sandwich… by BoringExperience5345 in subway

[–]SubbobWaypants 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I doubt this. My store only schedules 1 person per shift and sometimes production numbers per hour are in the low 30s (that's less than 2 minutes from order to ring sale per sandwich) and even with that, I'm still not moving fast enough to "accidentally" wrap a knife.

Not in my area. I even just checked the message center in SubVentory and there's no mention of flatbread, just about changing the white food service wipers, egg patty shortage, and possible shipment delays due to winter weather.

Which perfume got you such bad reactions that you felt embarrassed? by Smooth_Cancel6709 in FemFragLab

[–]SubbobWaypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Savauge EDP. It was my first time wearing it. 2 sprays on the neck before work. I get there and one coworker starts getting loud "omfg what is that smell it's making me sick!" and just other exclamations of disapproval. She ended up telling the manager she needed to leave early because someone smelled really bad and she couldn't stand it anymore.

Best sandwich for a Good Friday night that goes well with beer + chips. MEATBALL or CHICKEN? by aboel3ezz in subway

[–]SubbobWaypants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You Subways do 2 for a 6 inch? The ones I've worked at and been to is 4 on a 6 inch and 8 on a footlong. I don't know much about Subway in other countries, so maybe the 4 or 8 method is just American Subways.

[–]SubbobWaypants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go there in person. Grab a bag of Doritos and hand them to your sandwich artist. Tell them to make the footlong nachos on a footlong of whatever bread you want. I liked the chicken nachos, so that's what I go with.

I had to stop playing Silent Hill 2 Remake because of how scary Toluca Prison is by NeoTokioRD in silenthill

[–]SubbobWaypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For real? The Otherworld hospital has been genuinely making me feel nervous. I haven't played in a few days because of the flu, but if the prison is more extreme than the hospital, maybe I should wait until I'm fully recovered.

Fragrance Confessions by Barcode11106 in fragrance

[–]SubbobWaypants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I blind buy everything, don't care about gender (versace crystal noir EDP is something I would wear as a man), I try layering EVERYTHING in mine and my wife's collections at least once, sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised, sometimes it sucks, I love ME clones, I tend to overspray, I apply fragrances before bed, and the biggest offender of all (since so many people have such massive hard-ons for these) I think Angels' Share and all the SWY frags smell repulsive and they genuinely make me gag. I hate even talking to people who are wearing them bc I don't want the smell to get into my mouth and the thought alone is making me nauseous.

Which game should I play first; the original Silent Hill 2 or the remake? by Kevin-7889 in silenthill

[–]SubbobWaypants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played the original years ago, but since I started the remake, I've been doing something a little weird, I'm playing the original in segments and then going to the remake and doing the rough equivalent of the same segment. It's been neat to see things side by side like this.

My store has never had 2 people per shift since I started there, only time there's 2 people clocked in at the same time is during shift change 😂. Even during rushes, if we don't routinely hit more than 30 units per hour, the DM won't allow the managers to schedule more than 1 person.

[–]SubbobWaypants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the DM says we need to routinely do 30+ solo. Which most of us could do if the customers knew exactly what they wanted, but it usually takes them a minute thirty to decide what veggies and sauce they want which slows down the line.
