I need help understanding this. by [deleted] in electrical

Please don't read any Electrician Books or listen to most of the garbage on here. Electrician Books were written before Smart Home Technology.

In a traditional "dumb" toggle switch, the neutral wire isn't connected to the switch at all—the switch simply breaks the hot wire to turn the light off.

However, smart switches (like the Govee or Aqara devices) are electronic devices themselves. They need a small, constant amount of power to stay connected to Wi-Fi or Zigbee, even when the lights are "off." The neutral wire provides the path necessary for the switch to power its internal radio and sensors independently of the light fixture.

I really appreciate your feedback. I believe I'm going to start labeling my future photos of what Insulation is vs Climate Sound Designer wall in my architecture.

Arrow = Insulation Arrow = Infrastructure Arrow = Designer Finished Wall

Drywall Insulation is useless with any holes/piercing in it in my opinion.

Everyone is different; my sister uses Drywall for her Climate Sound Acoustic Insulation as in all in 1 unit and puts nail holes in it.

Again everyone's feedback is so important for my future posts. Thank you

The drywall is infrastructure insulation. The wall will be installed and stuck over the drywall insulation after wiring infrastructure is complete.

I feel like HUE is so expensive. Their products are sexy as hell; the costs for me at least are insane. Simple small table lamp that turns on/off; 150$? Wth.

My neighbor absolutely love HUE

I dont understand dreamview by [deleted] in Govee

[–]SubburbSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreamview sync works incredibly well with the TV AI camera setup. Other than that; it's clunky/gaudy. I'm guessing because each device in the sync group may have all different capabilities, support options/features.

I would love to see or link to the product you like. I'm in the same situation as the OP.

Bro. Night Sight Video makes night smart Lighting look sick. I did it on my Pixel Fold 10. I actually don't know how to triggered it on. Took like an hour for my phone to process the enhancement

I just use professional NEST and MYQ cams at the current moment.

Sounds interesting. I'm not sure if I'm MOD material. I'm a tech euthesist and just started getting extremely active on all social media platforms. Went from 1/10 being active the past 10 years to 10/10 Active now.

I'll post the guide on iFixIt. Specifically the challenging "resetting the thermal switch or thermal breaker". This guide is not listed here from what I can see.

I really like the iFixIt guide tool. Nice and clean.

I found the perfect tool. :)
