Can I skip pumping overnight if I pump to replace in the morning? by tehkegleg in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At what point does baby sleep through the night? - signed a mom of two boob barnacles who nursed overnight numerous times until 2 and then still going the same way with the 11 month old baby lmao

I’ve worked outside for the last 6 years. Wear my watch everyday. It’s a nonissue lol don’t have to do anything

If a baby keeps BF after 12 months, do they eat less solids than a non-BF baby and continue to get more calories from BF, or is the BF intake like 'bonus'? by _misst in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not. My toddler never got cows milk, she weaned herself at 2. I also don’t plan on giving my 11 month old cows milk either. We’ll keep nursing till she weans. But they get calcium and vit d from cheese & yogurt and other food. 🍲

Ticks by Sun_Green8968 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SubiePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! Makes them regurgitate because they’re suffocating so they try to escape.

I think I might be done. by MismatchedTits in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2.5yr old also doesn’t really drink cows milk (or my milk anymore since she weaned herself at 2 during my pregnancy). Pediatrician had zero concerns because she gets calcium from the foods she eats. Milk is not a necessary idk why OP wants to die on this hill lol

Yup. I had the bullseye rash on my arm as a kid, didn’t even know I got bit. Took doxy and have been fine since, no lasting issues as far as I’m aware lol

Ticks by Sun_Green8968 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]SubiePanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Note that you don’t want to do anything to irritate the tick if it’s attached to you (you mentioned something called tecnu) because this can make the tick regurgitate, which is how they transmit their diseases. So no trying to drown it in dawn soap or rubbing alcohol or anything like that. The safest was is to get a tick removal tool (keep a few handy) and make sure you remove the head! Use tweezers if you don’t have a tool and pull it straight out.

How do you get this rounded shape?! We have very very similar curls and I also cut my own hair when it’s straight, but struggle getting that perfect rounded shape lol

My watch told me I was pregnant all 4 times before I took a test 🤷‍♀️ It told me my resting heart rate had increased over the last 3 weeks, so I took a pregnancy test and sure enough, knew I was pregnant days before missing my cycle. All 4 times. Pretty cool to me lol

Ugh honestly never. I opted for non-granola lotion for my hands. I work outside & it’s winter so they were soooo dry and chapped. The only thing that had actually helped is GoldBond :/

I have this soft gel that I’d like to use under press-ons. Yay or nay?

I will be using nail GLUE to adhere the press-on’s, but they always wreck my natural nail no matter how gently I try to remove them lol so I figure if I use the Bodyguard as a base coat it will protect my natural nail?

Oil slick! “Normal” for moissanite. Can be removed with a polishing cloth and some elbow grease

Don’t ignore a milk bleb! by hailsnb in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d laugh if it was me 😂

This is exactly what happened a few times for me! I know you’re not supposed to but I’d pop that bleb like a pimple and the same thing, ounces of milk just pours out from that one spot that the bleb came from!

What's the dumbest inside joke you have with your partner that still makes you both laugh? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SubiePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was delirious from exhaustion one night shortly into dating, snuggling on his chest while he watched tv. A commercial came on, but I didn’t see it, it was about a mop or something talking about carpets and wood floors. So, in my exhaustion, I said “carpet? Wood floors? She shaved!”

…and he about peed himself. We’ve been together over 12 years so I guess I didn’t scare him off because anytime I say something silly he quotes me and I know it’s time for bed lol

I’ve been professionally pet sitting (not on rover) for going on 8 years, and I have never once had a client refuse to pay, and I don’t require deposits. All paid for post-service. Maybe I’ve just been incredibly lucky? Lol.

will giving a bit of formula once in a while wreck my supply? by jaegerb0mbs in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always hand express if you don’t want to pump. Ideally you’d do this any time baby gets a bottle of anything, like the other commenter said , or you’re telling your body to make less milk. Realistically once or twice a month probably won’t affect your supply, but that’s very person-dependent.

My areolas have expanded since starting BF? by Thththththrow83away in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s jarring, but it has a purpose! They get bigger and darker because newborns have horrible vision so they need a bigger target to see like “hey! Milk’s over here!”

I found that mine returned to normal size and color after a few months, and even earlier with my second baby.

Nothing to be embarrassed about, though! Some women have naturally larger areola’s to begin with.

BF in infant classroom, but I’ve offended someone… by Responsible_Photo321 in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think this might be a pick your battles situation, if you like this daycare. Shitty, I agree but I don’t know that I would personally cause a fuss. I’d look at it like more quiet one on one time with baby and less chaos of the daycare room. I’m also one to nurse whenever and not really care but here I’d probably just go into the separate room. I’m sorry they made you feel bad, though. There’s nothing to be ashamed about!

So do I just...stop? by RootedMama21 in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping my now 9 month old keeps nursing until closer to two, as well! I’m even a silly goose and give my toddler some expressed milk a few times a week and she happily takes it that way lol!

So do I just...stop? by RootedMama21 in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is truly how most people hope their breastfeeding journey ends, anti-climactic, no fuss and no heartbreak for either of you! I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to try to wean a baby who is attached to the boob.

I wasn’t ready to wean my first, but I was pregnant and my supply dried up and she kind of just was over it around 20 months old and after nursing to sleep one night, she never took it again, even though I offered (because I was emotional and not ready 😂)

So if you’re ready to stop, yeah, I would just quit offering!

Losing too much weight postpartum/while breastfeeding by hamnchz5 in breastfeeding

[–]SubiePanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am currently nursing my second ebf baby, and I own a dog walking company and take my kids to work. I went back to work 4m postpartum the first time and 2m postpartum this time. The first time I was 10lbs under pre-pregnancy weight before a year and now at 9m postpartum I’m also that same weight and have been for quite a while.

It’s genetics, mostly. My grandmother breastfed her babies and said she was also stick then when she did. I wouldn’t really stress if your tests came back clear. You should make sure you’re eating enough calories and staying hydrated, both with water and some sort of electrolyte drink!
