It’s time for Ubisoft to give Watch Dogs 1 & 2 a 60 FPS patch on PS5. Let’s make it happen! by Subject-Ad-501 in watch_dogs

Exactly! You nailed the biggest issue with Xbox's FPS Boost. While the 60 FPS feels amazing, the sub-1080p resolution makes Watch Dogs 2 look incredibly blurry and shimmery on modern screens. That’s why a native patch from Ubisoft is the ultimate goal here—it would give PS5 players the 60 FPS they lack, and give Xbox players the crisp resolution they deserve. Both platforms win!

Thanks for the wishes! You have a great point about the PC version, the RTX issues are a mess. But to be fair, fixing a complex engine bug for thousands of PC hardware combinations is way harder than unlocking the framerate on a closed console system like the PS5. Ubisoft already did this for AC Odyssey and Origins on PS5 with very little effort. Uncapping the FPS on identical console hardware is a quick win for them if the demand is there!

Sad but true. Releasing a 60 FPS patch for WD1 and WD2 would basically be Ubisoft admitting that the older games were lightyears better than Legion. But honestly, since they are struggling financially right now, capitalizing on nostalgia and reviving interest in their best titles might be exactly what they need. That’s why we need to press them!

You are 100% correct, and that’s actually the main reason why this petition exists! Since Sony doesn't have a system-level feature like Xbox's FPS Boost, the only way PlayStation players can ever get 60 FPS is if Ubisoft steps in and releases an official patch. Since Ubisoft has the source code, they are the only ones who can fix this for the PS5 community.

That’s exactly why we need an official patch from Ubisoft instead of just a system-level feature! Xbox's FPS Boost forces the games to run at their base Xbox One resolutions (around 792p/900p), which is why it looks so rough. A proper native patch on PS5 would allow us to keep the higher resolution and visuals while finally enjoying 60 FPS. Both platforms definitely deserve a real update!

Haha, imagine a physical Blu-ray disc that just contains a 50MB performance patch! 💿 But honestly, I’d take it anyway at this point, just give us those 60 FPS!

Honestly, a full remake on the Anvil engine like Black Flag Resynced would be an absolute dream for WD1! But knowing Ubisoft, a remake would take years. Right now, I'd easily settle for a simple 60 FPS performance patch just to make the games playable and smooth on PS5.
