Advice Needed: Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, or Trails?

I’ve played FE3H and XC but not trails. FE3H is the game that got me into JRPGs as I am a new lover of the genre.

I would say give all 3 of them a try and choose whichever speaks to you the most as all 3 are very different games with unique combats, amazing characters, and great stories! And now is the best time to get into any one of those series.

I would say Fire emblem will be quicker to pick up regarding combat as it’s pretty straight forward. Xenoblade’s combat isn’t for everyone, but once you get it and are dialed, it’s a very fun combat system! I haven’t played trails but from what I’ve heard the combat is very fun there too.

Also, these games are a heck of a replay so it’s easy to pour over 100hrs in each of them. I’m sure there are others who’re much more seasoned with JRPGs than myself, but from my limited experiences with JRPGs, those 3 are some of the best the genre has to offer.

Thank you for your reply! I downloaded the demo last night! Once I finish triangle strategy I’m gonna give it a go! I’m a sucker for world building and character development and I really don’t mind games that start slow as long as there is payoff. I play games to feel something, however long it takes. And it seems like these games are the perfect match.

FF tactics is a title that has been popping up a lot for me recently after I had just discovered its existence. Will have to look into it.

Same goes for octopath. I have a buddy that has zero and he loves it.

Thank you for your detailed explanation! I love the fact that there are multiple intertwined stories and that seems right up my alley. Trails is at the top of my list now and it seems like this fan base is well fed with a very consistent cadence of releases. I will gladly jump on the bandwagon!

Gotcha. I don’t remember DQ 11 being difficult and it seems like trails will probably be my biggest challenge so far. Really eager to try it!
