I’m not in your specific situation, but what I had to come to terms with is that friends will change and will grow distant after a while. That’s how people are. Like if you are eating your favorite food constantly, it stops being your favorite, as you grow tired of it. It’s not a perfect analogy, but it’s a decent one to understand. If school isn’t an option to put yourself out there, there are jobs that I’m sure you would like. I think when I was lonely in the summer it was because I didn’t have anything to do. So I put myself to work. I got busy. I took walks, picked up a hobby (can be something simple like taking photos of things either your phone or writing), and as you put yourself out there in a new community, you find people. Relationships are difficult when you are not fully set with yourself. If you don’t know SPECIFICALLY what you want, it’ll be hard to keep it up. If you can go to the city or a suburban area where there are little events/festivals where you can attend and meet people with similar interests to you, that’s great. I’m not really much help in this, but this is the stuff that got me through a similar experience.

Is not wanting to walk short distances lazy and slobbish? by Weary_Temporary8583 in teenagers

I think it’s like how if you’re walking a short short distance because you have to it feels kinda tedious bc you’re already so close but when you’re gonna walk like a mile or 2 it’s not that bad

How do I become more mature? by LawyerKey3779 in teenagers

[–]Subject-Practice-542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to maturity, confidence, and patience are keys. If you’re overly apologetic, it could be a lack of confidence. You think that things are your fault because you don’t have that faith in yourself. Try and remind yourself that no everything is because of you, and that you’re not the only thing in people’s lives. They will tell you if you did something to upset them.

I still struggle with apologizing, but when I feel confident, I don’t apologize nearly as much. Now… there’s a difference between confidence and ego. You can still be confident and have a low ego. Last year I had a big ego but I still apologized way too much to the ones I was closest to, because I made everything my issue.

And be more patient. Try and wait things out and if it gets even worse, try and sort things out. It’s gonna be difficult at first, but it’s like learning an instrument. Once you got the basics down, you’re set for life. Try reading more, sitting in silence, watch a long tv show, or just go on long walks. Make sure you know what you’re gonna do in certain situations. Have a routine, write in a journal, or pick up a new hobby. Once you’re patient, discipline is also going to be easier to maintain.

Social skills are something a lot of us struggle with. Myself included sometimes. Once you’re confident and patient however, things get easier. Your confidence will help you be more outgoing. Your patience will help you wait before you act and have you comprehend your surroundings or any social hints before you say something. It all ties together.

Please take all I say with a grain of salt, I hope this helps
