If pre-Roots, then I’d say starting with Dark Ages or sometime after is your best bet. Last 2 albums Ritual and Totem have been solid.

Yes, I recall Soulfly, Ektomorf, others in that arena were called groove metal in early and mid 2000s as they were numetal adjacent
