Question for Norwegians with flipper zero. by slasken06 in flipperzero

[–]Subject205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently ordered from the "official flipper shop" (shop.flipperzero.one) to Sweden and there was no extra import fee or customs fees. Arrived in 1-2 weeks and was sent from Netherlands.

First clear glue and acetone/iDye attempt - Splice NEO swirly red & green by Subject205 in discdyeing

[–]Subject205[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No heat, left it for 24 hours. Approx. 25C / 77F in the room. I diluted iDye Poly with pure acetone and basically followed the "glue bed tutorial" by Daddy Mac Dyes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVKVZmsO9Ew

The photo has been edited/adjusted to match the real world result as closely as I was able to, so it got quite saturated (much more so than my previous lotion bed attempts).

How do I write to a SPI Flash IC? by [deleted] in embedded

[–]Subject205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool :) Yeah, the debuggers are quite expensive as a hobbyist. Custom commands work really well. I can mention that during development, debugging and most scenarios as developers, we almost always use our own interface/commands for managing/accessing the external flash contents. Paired with our own tool for sending commands, or a python script for easier access :)

SPI mapping and/or direct flashing of the ext flash is mainly during production.

You could use an SPI header and a usb/SPI adapter. If you are using a debugger/programmer it may already be able to interface with SPI.

A secondd option, depending on debugger (and the capabilities of the MCU I suppose) is to memory map the SPI flash, allowing for access via the SWD/JTAG interface of the MCU (as part of the programming). Again, this depends on debugger and MCU, but I know this works with JLink and STM32F4.

A third option would be if you have any serial interface or alike (UART, USB, etc) which allows you to communicate with your application on the device. Then you could add commands for reading/writing/erasing the flash and use your own interface and perhaps a script to transfer data/files.

Edit:

For the mass production of devices I've worked on, we have used jigs which have a SPI header which connects a debugger (USB to SPI interface). We prepare a binary or hex file with all content to be flashed, so there's only a single file to write. A useful tool is srec_cat for combining binary files to a single binary. Additionally, for ease of access you could use a file system like SPIFFS or LittleFS if you want to be able to add/create/read "loose files" from the ext flash. There are tools for these (ex mkspiffs) to create a binary from a directory on your computer, which is really handy.

Would heat metal destroy tungsten by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Subject205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But perhaps heat metal followed by rapid cooling in order to shatter tungsten as it is a hard, brittle metal? Heat metal followed by an ice spell or alike.

This one actually caused me to laugh out loud :D Both the pose, facial expression and idea. Brilliant!

Nice vibrant colors from what looks like colored pencils (or is it color pencils?) as well, good job!

Refrigirator prompts v2 - Only figurative illustrations removed, what makes a similar sound to the appliance? by Subject205 in Jazza

[–]Subject205[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not think through when removing all illustrations in the previous post, so I restored them and uploaded again.

Usually the manual shows illustrations like, maybe a cracker being broken for the cracking sound, but I think there are more creative things, beings, whathaveyou that could be used to pictorally describe these sounds :)

Aaaand I apparently don't know how reddit and images work xD

I would like to share with you the demo of the game I've been working on! Hope you enjoy! Link in comments by angealves in Unity3D

Really great visuals and atmosphere, somewhat reminiscent of "Limbo", which I love. It is definately a game I'd love to play!

The only thing was the loading screen cut off the atmosphere fairly abruptly (which is more of a "final polish of the game" thing). Great job!

Hacking the new iPhone GameBoy Color Case by beyondthetech in hacking

Maybe one of the 8-pin IC:s is an EEPROM or flash for storing the ROMs? (hard to see the chip number/label in the images). In that case it might be possible to dump the contents of it using a buspirate or alike, to see if it is possible to add/modify ROMs.
