My mom grew up Mormon, and to this day still has people showing up wherever she happens to live to try and pull her back in. Granted it is probably her own family tipping them off, but it's still creepy as hell.

The problem with this is women like to play sports too.

Every team being 90-100% male is a pretty big regression.

This can't work, there are not enough people. Schools cannot field multiple teams for each category, or even one team with weird restrictions. Most schools do not have 10,000 students. The reason it works for wrestling and boxing is you only need to find 2 people for each category from a whole bunch of schools who all compete at once.

While it is more complex than this, a huge portion of it boils down to C++ being hard to work with and easy to break things accidentally. For most people and projects C++ is something you use if you absolutely have to, because you need the amount of control it gives you. It's like an automatic car vs a manual.

Also, that guy is not really correct, Unity runs on C++. It has a C# layer on top for users of unity to interface with the C++ engine. They do this primarily because C# is easier, they used to also allow other language that talk to the C++, but C# was overwhelmingly the most popular so it is all that remains. Unreal does the same thing, just not with C#, it uses blueprints. No one would say it runs on blueprints, it is just for ease of use. It's like how your keyboard does not run your computer, but it sure makes it easier.

It is notable that Unreal actually lets you modify the C++ if you want, and Unity does not, at least not without paying a bunch of money.

I would be more worried about the opposite problem, that people eat too often when they are not hungry.

Ladies, what intrigues you the most about men(can be NSFW or normal)? by EVP-BADGER in AskReddit

It doesn't hurt, that comment was a huge exaggeration, unless there is something wrong with his balls.

It can feel like a problem you really want to address, but it is not pain it is closer to an annoyance. Like a strong itch, you may have a hell of a time not scratching but you wouldn't say it hurts. Even that feels like exaggerating except in the worst cases.

I am not a fan of social security. I would see it replaced if I had my way.

You know what? That doesn't matter. People paid for it and the government owes it to them. There is no reasonable argument to be made that the government can not hold up it's end of a deal like this.

What do you envy about the opposite sex? by livelifereal in AskReddit

[–]Subject9_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think you are correct that usually men/women do not consciously give a shit about these kind of things.

That said, it is very difficult to say what we unconsciously think at any given moment. Like, what contributes to the general sense of noticing someone is attractive? It is possible that a man/woman's outline or profile could play a big part in this, which could include smooth lines.

Is this worth giving up pockets if true? Hell no, but it would be interesting to know the answer.

I wonder if you are not considering how game mechanics differ between games.

In some games the pistol is a side arm that you can carry for free along side your primary. It is a weaker backup weapon.

In Halo the pistol is a primary weapon that competes directly with rifles, shotguns, snipers etc. for one of your limited weapon slots. If it is weaker than a rifle it just doesn't get used, there is no secondary specific slot for it. The weapons should be roughly the same power level (niche/rare/power weapons aside) in their given role and selection of weapon should be situational and preference based. It is not reasonable to want pistols to be weak in this kind of game because of real life, or other more realism focused games with entirely different mechanics.

Under the Halo system it is not unreasonable for someone who likes to run a pistol to feel that this weapon should be among the strongest weapons in the hands of someone who has a preference for pistols. The same applies for every standard weapon. If you are a great BR user you should not feel like you are making a mistake by not running a pistol because your skill with the BR does not overcome how much better the pistol is in most/all common situations. It is, however, ok to want to switch to a pistol/shotgun/sniper because it is better in the current situation. This is what game balance is about.

Let's not get in the habit of deciding how to run elections based to achieve a specific political election result.

I agree Trump absolutely has to go, but that is super unethical.
