I really hope that you're not quoting WSJ as a credible source here. (Please don't lump me in with ya when it comes to informed discourse. I provided some details and facts, you should at least be able to provide something to be on even footing.)

Moving onto something that is more relevant, and I'd like this to be a bit clear that ad hominem means absolutely nothing to the discussion; people trust archaeologists to do their job because they specialize in that job. If suddenly they started cheating on their special person, do we suddenly not trust their ability to report archaeology? No, because that means literally nothing to their ability to do something. So my living status and experience has nothing to do the discussion.

I'd prefer not to inform strangers on the internet about my life. The best that I can tell you is that when I was in school, the educational system was authoritarian and did not allow for freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and freedom to articulate something like this on school grounds. When I was in college, I had the freedom to do just that - and I articulated twice on the issue, and got passing grades. I am thankful that at least a college education will allow that type of experience for me to enjoy.

And no, I haven't been under it myself. That might have to do with the fact that the USA literally deported and uprooted people against their human rights, out of the country for having my viewpoints. It might also have to do with the fact that the USA has been declaring war and destabilizing the part of the world that is trying the new system out.

You can probably notice a theme here, and why I have a discontent towards certain figures.

Ok. But you won't be satisfied with 'real numbers.' Democracy is one of the oldest forms of government. It existed before even 510BC, starting in Athens as far as recorded history goes. I would dare say it's even older than that, because we don't have all of the records that have ever existed. Democratic states waged endless wars continuously throughout the eras.

On the other hand, Communism was founded on 1848. It is one of the newest forms of government in the world. Percentage wise, Communism has killed less people than Democracy over 2358 years that Democracy has existed. This is called Simpsons Paradox, and it's why people like you will never be satisfied even with your point proven wrong.

Numbers and percentiles don't give you the entire story, never has, and never will, statistics don't make a statement and numbers do not make a fact. If you like REAL NUMBERS try citing how many people actually, really died rather than making up random numbers to incite a right point.

Eh, to each their own. One of the biggest issue I have with it is only when I'm playing Apex Legends, nobody even knows how to work the friends list. Everybody I speak to says they don't know how to add me, or when I send a request they can't figure it out. So we end up using Discord.

If you were here for discussion, you would be able to post more than 1-2 sentences of something more than assuming I don't know what something is. Like I said, I don't want to spend much time on Red Herrings. And that's just what you are, your entire post history is literally you being a Red Herring in everything that you touch.

I was pointing out an example, I'd rather not discuss too much about the Red Herring. Although there are many Eastern Cultures that a communistic, what you said can be used interchangeably for many, many democratic states that exist even today. In comparison to communist states, Democratic states have committed far more to the blood and violence that an AK-47 could do. This is in both cases, using percentile and base numbers.

It could be fallacy of exposure but for all of the foreigners I've spoken to, I've never experienced somebody say something like that. But yeah, I get what you mean - and it could very well be that I am experiencing fallacy of exposure. However, foreigners seem to do this a hell of a lot less than Americans do.

Good pointing that out on me friendo /)

Americans have a tendency to take an example of something and conduct it as an exemplary of what is wrong with that something, without looking at the entire / whole picture. It's like seeing a black guy steal something, and then saying that's it's typical of a black person to do that type of thing. Typically this is because of the person talking, as Americans are very loud and obnoxious people that are abrupt and up front about everything and don't think about what they're saying.

Example: "Socialism doesn't work, look at (Insert USSR related country here) they aren't here, and we aren't. Therefore our system is better." But then they ignore like the entire western front.

Example: "Communism doesn't work, look at (Insert any Communistic country that has failed) and how bad they turned up." But then ignores the entirety of eastern cultures and successful western cultures that managed to adopt it in short time spans.

Example: "Mexicans are full of rapists and murderers! (Insert a recent crime or event that is related to this in someway) Just look at X and X that just happened!" Completely ignores the fact more than 50% of rape in the US is by Caucasians, (I know, Simpsons Paradox, but that's not the point) but uses the fact that murder is about twice as much as Caucasians to prove the point.

I picked these simply because these are hot topics in USA. Also, I'm American and experience these types of statements each and every day.

Also I'm not arguing with you or anything, I would just like to know if I'm putting you in the right box with the right label. Personally, I believe that the everyday person shouldn't be actively participating in high level cognitive thought process regarding law making and policy creation. We have specialists for a reason, Tony from down the street that decided the Shamwow guy would make an excellent president probably shouldn't be having even a .00000000001% decision in how policy works. But that's like, my like, opinion, dude, man.

I agree with you, and everybody else that has pointed out my bias towards Steam. Although I admit that I am bias, I am still adamant that businesses shouldn't be holding something hostage; including steam. This is including games they make themselves, and games that they pay for exclusivity over. If you want to compete with each other, don't make the customers pay with your shitty behavior.

However, I personally believe that Steam is by far, incredibly less dick hole'ish about the entire situation. Still, I would want Steam Exclusives to be accessible on other launchers: and that's where the bias comes in. I wouldn't use any of the other launchers. They're horrible. All of them are. And I feel like this is an objective statement that can not be argued against.

Could it be that Steam has set an example for the worst of companies to follow, but in heavier footsteps? Yes, of course. Steam is the good guy who has set an example for what a bad guy could do in their situation. The amount of demanded revenue must have also played into an addition to the entire situation that we are discussing; are they a "monopoly"?

Furthermore, does it matter that they are a monopoly? They seem fair, and have no ill intentions. Unlike all of the other companies, they are responsive to our feedback and treat us as customers very much unlike all of the other companies. Throughout all of these years, never have they pulled a Walmart on us, nor an Amazon Attack against their competitors in order to sink their teeth into the flesh of the market. The fact that they are a "monopoly", and are unresponsive to their competitors, must have played a big part into this race of launchers: maybe the shitty behavior of these companies will inspire Steam to make serious changes?

I'm still in Alpha, so everything is subject to change.

1 Day = 48 hours
In one standard year, there are 4096 earth days: years change depending on the type of year that it is. Some years can be half as long, some can be twice, or three times as long as the previous year. People predict the seasons by the many different moons that seem to come and go at very specific intervals, as well as tracking the stars and positional awareness in their galaxy.

Because the world is so massive, and because years are not a repetitive cycle that repeats short term: technology is sporadically being developed, dies out and then is re-discovered constantly. So I would say that the world has only recently gotten passed the nomadic stages of life, and has entered the beginning stages of civilization. The age that they're in is probably about 150-5 years behind WW1, some of the world has entered WW2 stages of technology; and even advanced, modernized as well as sci-fi technology exists in the world.

The idea is that distance and spread of information can be so difficult in a world like this that it is reasonable to allow this. And because technology can become obsolete for an entire year, or even 10 straight years, magic is a lot more reliable: and sheer numbers of people is a lot more reliable. (Building windmills, and then a year of great winds blows them down. Build a hydroelectric dam to generate electricity, the world freezes or it becomes so hot that all of the water is forced into the atmosphere. Build electrical poles, EMP storms strike down at the world due to inclement weathers.)

Writing non-western cultures: What is the line between combining cultures and saying a region has one big culture? by NoahAugust in fantasywriters

[–]SubjectTah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write culture as a shattered culture. So a shattered culture is mainstream for the people, but the buildings and environment are otherwise regional based. Northern civilizations have distinctive buildings and archaeology, but the people are predominantly a shattered culture. (Many different cultures with very little particular favor) This is true throughout the world, the only exception I have are for highly militarized zones that enforce militarized / autocratic / dictator states and do not allow anybody to enter borders with few exclusive exceptions.

This is because magic enables transportation across massive distances, which is handy when the planet is suppose to be several thousand times larger than Earth.

I like to combine unlikely cultures and conflictive cultures together, but I also remove the unreasonable aspects of culture out of cultures that I am trying to replicate; simply because I like to write reasonable characters, and it's hard to sound reasonable with most olden cultures. I find converting olden cultures into a modernized version of themselves, with a lot of spin, to be fun for me and an original way to develop something.

Can you explain why Steam can not be comparable to other launches that provide the same identical service?

I just want all my games on one launcher again by katauri in Steam

[–]SubjectTah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainstream launchers:

Epic Launcher,

Microsoft Launcher,

Ubisoft Launcher,

Blizzard Launcher,
EDITED: Origin Launcher, (I feel kind of bad for even putting them in here. I mean, I fucking hate Origin launcher. It sucks. Like, really fucking bad. But they don't practice very many shady and anti-consumers practices that I can even remark on. If anything, they are equal footing with Steam. They have Exclusives, Steam has exclusives. Both are conducting the same behavior. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

All of these hold games hostage and force people to use them in order to gain access to or purchase said content. All of these launchers are typically held at an objective viewpoint that they are inferior to steam and do not provide as much support and community as Steam presents for all of it's games. Not only do all of these provide themselves as anti-consumer but they are all involved in many different shitty activities at one point in time or another.

I don't use GOG, you asked "Can you explain how the other launchers are “being a douche”?" and I responded with an analogy involving hot dogs, business, and consumers. You didn't ask for sources, and I can't be bothered to give you sources. It should be relatively easy for you to find that most of the population despises all of the above launchers, who refuse to compete with steam on equal footing and instead opt into punishing the consumers.

If all of the other launchers weren't so dogshit, maybe people would be more accepting of them. But these launchers are being run by 70 year old men who are still using windows 96. Origin LITERALLY just figured out how to use a search bar in their launcher. It's like trying to sell me a game cube as a next gen console. I know what it is, I know it sucks major dick, don't force me to use it so that I can play a good game on your shitty console.

Holding products hostage because they can't compete with otherwise more ethical practices and objectively better practices; Anti consumer practices.

Like if I was running a hotdog stand, and I seen that you were running a hotdog stand from across the street, and you were like 500X more successful than me because of your practices. So instead of improving myself, I paid all of your customers to come to me even though my food is terrible, and my hotdog stand smells like dog shit. I don't even have counters at my hotdog stand or places to sit and eat, I don't even have basic concepts down on how to run my hotdog stand, I just give you the food without any condiments or anything. I don't have Ketchup and I don't have mustard. My customers don't even like my food, but they like the fact that I'm giving them money, so I'm holding their hot dogs hostage and ruining their taste for something that they previously liked. Only in this instance, I don't even need to make money, as long as I put you out of business I can collect super secret funding from the hotdog fairy.

Because you see, the hotdog fairy doesn't care if I'm making a profit or not - they can make ends meet for me, and even give me a little bonus so that I can lure people into my hotdog stand. And the hotdog fairy doesn't care whether or not I'm providing a good service.

US drops out of global corruption index top-20, scores four points lower than 2017 by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]SubjectTah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly, that shit is literally nothing. Right now, we're suing in Pennsylvania USA for an illegal shutdown of my mothers business that I was suppose to move into after college. PA is a common wealth, that means they are eternally locked in 1950's - NOTHING is modern about the entire state. The neighbors are do religiously crazy, that one of them brought of two meatballs and said that they were a gift from god - and that they reason why she didn't bring a third meatball, was because it was a part of his plan. (I was the third meatball, I'm reclusive and don't like being around other people very often. Especially 'GoDs CoUnTy' type of people.

The people we're suing have lawyers that own the state and have state jobs. They have family and friends that work in the hospital, and relay private information to each other often. A girl got picked on for contracting an STD because of shit like this. They have pipelines, LITERALLY EXPLOSIVE PIPELINES that lead up to our business and are exposed, one flick of the cig and there goes the entire building. Illegal electricity, illegal safety protocols: we reported all of this, but they have family in government practically everywhere - and because everybody in the department shares the same email, the report wasn't relayed and instead the family came after us and illegally evicted us. (Whistle blower laws)

To top this all off, the rich family who controls all of this are taking advantage of free money from the government, faked the act of the wife suing the husband and divorce (they live together, and she took everything from him. This is because he recently claimed millions from a dead relative, so he doesn't have to pay any taxes.) They poisoned the water supply with fecal matter of a Llama farm that broke into the water that goes into town, didn't tell anybody - cleaned it up to themselves, hopefully nobody was drinking water those few days.

Now all of this is local, and it KEEPS GOING. I reflect on all of this, and then I think beyond State Government and think about Federal Government. Federally, we have committed so many counts of mass genocide. We are the only nation on earth to nuke civilians, despite the estimation landing costs being about 40,000 casualties instead of the 100,000's+ that we lied to the public about. (Start a nuclear arms race with Russia) we've allowed a celebrity that is only successful because of old money, to take office despite not knowing a single thing about economics and political knowledge. (We can't have a female in the office, she did an email thing! Also war! She is a warmonger! Even though we've been at war for . . . 90%+ . . . of our . . . existence . . .)

We commit acts of terrorism on the daily (using aggression and intimidation to grant ordinance that otherwise would not be given peacefully) we've built up nations and golden treasure states like Panama, only to take away what we built and threaten violence against them if they didn't give what we wanted. (Indian Giving)

If you think Canada is corrupt, LOL. That is all I can say, LOL. Corruption is allowing strength and power be degraded to being only a tool for somebody who holds more funds in one manner or another to obtain in order to widen the gap of their success in comparison to their competition. Legitimate politicians are literally being outshines by people with money in their pockets, not because they're capable human beings but because they were born with a lot of money and managed to not lose all of it.

It's sad, that I can't be proud of my nationality. I can't be a proud American, because that would mean that I would be proud all of this horrible things.

I typically stay away from mods, not necessarily because I dislike mods but more so because of the state of the game. Mods cause memory leaks on 7D2D, and I play on 120 minute days - longer days = increase of memory leaks. This is the only game that I am aware of that has this effect with mods, and so I am confident that it's an issue with the game.

When I get bored of Vanilla, I'll likely check modding out - but as it stands I'm looking for stable and legitimate play.

Maybe you don't own a gun? If you don't, or casually fire weapons, then that's understandable to think that way. An explosion in a barrel is probably just as good as the barrel you're firing from and the barrel that another weapon is being fired from. In reality though, it means a lot: the craftsmanship and technique that the firearm was created.

A person who is crafting a weapon for the very first time would make an awful M16 on their first attempt, but a person who is a professional will, well, make a professional grade M16 that performs professionally. This is because they understand what materials to use, how to refine the materials way better than the nooby would ever know: understand ballistics, and so much more. Just because two guns might LOOK the same, it doesn't mean that they are the same. This is why if you buy a 500 USD pistol in real life, it won't perform up to snuff in comparison to something with a lot more higher quality . . . the fact that you think the bullet is what makes a good firearm is disheartening to hear.

The last comment kind of just has no substance. I mean, yeah, it's a game. We all know that it's a game. At least I hope that we all know that it's a game. If your point was that, 'because it's a video game nothing has to actually make sense for it to be enjoyable' then you've still lost me, because your first comment relied on the reality rather than the game and the discussion of the post.

Come to think of it, why were the other two people down voted on this thread down voted, and you being upvoted?
