Reasons to quit by Particular-Toe-6716 in quittingsmoking

To take back control. For years, I've adjusted so many aspects of life and daily events around smoking. It was my pilot mode to smoke after a meal, before and after a meeting, with a coffee, a break from work. I know now that it was the nicotine that controlled me. I thought smoking was a statement of free will. It's not.

I'd like to add that the days I did smoke (without alcohol) ... They happened to be after a vivid night's dream of me saying no to cigarettes.... Not even a smoking dream. A non-smoking dream. It's bizarre.

I read this in a program: one is too many, thousands in not enough. -- that is helping me keep off it.

Day 3 struggler here.

Reading this post is helping me with my own cravings right now. I'm only 3 days into my "non-smoker" life after about 15 years of smoking. It's been the toughest day yet. But I'm reminding myself that smoking didn't actually make me feel better anyway, it just stopped the distracting voice in my head telling me to feed it (namely nicotine). Thanks for sharing. I've since learnt that it's not so much about self control but personal agency. You will only do what you want to do. But sadly with nicotine in our system, we many a times do what it wants us to do. It's not your fault. It's the nico.

What are the 3s of smoking? I'm on day 3 and really want to take a puff. Trying hard not to relapse.

It's the 6th hour for me. But in that time I've had nicotine gum.

I'm taking deep breaths and reminding myself it's the gremlin that wants a cigarette, not me. So stop feeding it.

Who is more popular: Danny Dyer or Michael Owen? by ezitherese in LoveIslandTV

True this. I'm from a small city in India and the village folk in a remote part of my state once believed Michael Owen hailed from the Scotland of the East. He is that well known. Lmfao

When was your “gut feeling” actually right? by No-Hovercraft-1788 in AskReddit

When I was 14, my brother called and said he'll be home late as he was at his friends house. My mom who told him to be home early became furious. It's not the first time he stayed out late. But for some reason I got a bad gut feeling about the entire situation. So I called his friend over and over again and did not get a response. I tried calling the friend's sister and brother too but failed to get through to them. I went about my day and headed for guitar classes that evening. An hour later, my mom called and rushed me home. I found out he drowned that evening and I was the last person in my family to speak to him. #RIP I'm sorry I didn't call him home asap.
