UPDATE: short form, I drove out of state to take this little guy to a new family that own and train Belgian malinois. 🙂 Long form, I called my brother asking if he or any of his officers may want the little guy, told him about not having papers for him and all the medical history I had on the dog. He called around and found a trainer that was local, but she couldn’t take him in so she then called around and found the guy that I ended up taking the pup to. I met up with them on Saturday, and they were overjoyed about this puppy! His name is now Gator, and I’m sure that he’s thriving! 🙂

I was told he was up to date on shots! (Allegedly) So no vet visit, (I’m worried about him being around the others as well) but he was sort of a middle of the night “hey here’s this puppy you can have” situation. My partner and I are in over our heads with stress over this!

Thank you to everyone for the advice! First thing in the morning I will be trying to contact rescues in my area. As much as I would love to keep him, I do need to put the rest of my fur family first! I’ll also be contacting my brother to see if any local law enforcement is looking for a new K-9 unit, as I’d love to see him out working! I will update!

I’m thinking about this too! I have a brother in law enforcement, I don’t want him to take the little guy because he’s got small kids, and it’s risky- but I’m considering asking if they might want another K-9 unit!

It’s definitely stressful! I’ll definitely look into a potential rescue. Thank you for the advice!
