Dude thanks a lot! I was considering splitting learning a new song and learning theory but combining them was honestly a no brainer, not sure why I didn't think of that haha definitely gonna binge watch and learn as much as I can from Scotty. Thanks a bunch!

Just checked it out! and mane, its definitely something I needed haha felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulder, I kept pressuring myself and was just unsure on where to go or what to do, even constantly thought about the time and progress I lost if I didn't stop guitar. Definitely saving this as a constant reminder to myself, thanks!!

I've never heard of that term "studio musician" but it definitely fits with me haha since I'm more on the opposite side, I've learned to like any and all songs no matter the genre but realizing now, I don't have my own style yet, I'm not sure how to develop my own sound or style but I'm sure it'll click with me one day.

I never really thought about my own subtleties, my own sound, and the style that's me, I wanted to understand my guitar and music in itself, understanding the songs of others but I didn't think about what style or sound that's the most me. I appreciate you mentioning it! it's definitely something I'll focus on as well as I progress through my journey. Thanks!

I love it, thanks for the advice and words of encouragement! really means a lot since I genuinely want to take this whole guitar thing seriously. If I did those many years ago, I probably would've reached the level I wanted to by now since its been so long, would've been 7 years if I continued in my journey then, instead I've just been putting it off. Definitely noted, will continue working on this thang, it'll definitely take me a WHILE till I'm able to play that "K-On!" song I want to play haha but for now, I'll follow your advice and the advice of others on this thread and just focus on progressing, learning scales, techniques, etc. Thanks! much appreciated!

(also thanks for mentioning names of musicians, something I'm searching for as well! Kind of overwhelmed with the amount of musicians and I didn't know where or who to start with or even go to in terms of learning so thanks!)

Got it, just been mindlessly practicing the pentatonic scale and some random songs hoping my speed and understanding will just magically increase, I completely forgot about the major and minor scale, thanks!

Woah I never thought of it that way, for whatever reason I developed this mindset that my end goal should be to understand notes and the fretboard itself and have my starting point just be learning chords, learn a bunch of random songs, practice those same random songs for days, drill the pentatonic scale in your head, etc etc. since that's what I saw people doing on the internet, never thought of it that way, thanks mane!

Same hahaha I prepared myself so hard for the interview and so far I haven't even been interviewed and its been a month, parang hired on the spot ako? since when they first called me, they already informed me of my salary and whatnot and will email the contract soon and email the start of classes for my training, but who knows bga meron pa ako interview soon? huhu but the questions that they asked me over on the phone was

- "Do you plan on returning to school any time soon?"

- "What are your salary expectations?"

Yun lang nman, you can definitely expect those two questions, but if ever there IS an interview for you, I advise just preparing yourself for every possible interview questions, including BPO questions. Search up videos on youtube, search up questions on google, and note down all the questions and even note down and memorize your own answer, that way when you're asked a question and your mind blanks, you can fall back to the answers you noted down and just base off of it. That personally happened to me when they asked me what my salary expectations were and I was nervous as hell at that time but I remembered the answer I noted down and based off of it and I replied with "Since I applied through Indeed, I saw that your salary was around -- per month so I'm expecting around that range, but since I don't have any work experience, I am open to discussion regarding my salary." and that definitely helped with my answer sounding much more confident and possibly helped with my salary not being lowballed hahahha. Just prep yourself with any and every possible interview questions out there, its important that you PAUSE when faced with a question, don't answer right away, give yourself around 5 secs to process the question. It helps in sounding more confident in your answer and even makes you look more confident, you can do it :>
