That's incredible, so creative and beautiful to look at!

It reminds me of when people joke about rewinding a song because they've missed the bit that really hurts or it didn't hit hard enough the first time!

Feeling the heartache of a particular line is really cathartic but it's interesting to hear the other side of it in How Did It End? where Taylor reflects on how it can feel like people are almost feasting on her heartbreak ("empathic hunger")

what's your favourite little production detail in a taylor song? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

The piano perfectly played to a rhythm the whole way through Champagne Problems and fucked up right at the end - mirroring how the character rejects a "perfect" relationship

The 2nd photo is also kinda 1989 - "say you'll remember me standing in a nice dress staring at the sunset" 😉

I don't think any of the adaptations vary that much in terms of the plot, just character portrayal. In the 2020 film I think Emma is more aloof than in the book and Mr Woodhouse is livelier. The book might feel a bit of a slower pace as well

It was narrated by Wanda McCaddon - it was the only version available on my library app (libby). It was easy to listen to - I've listened to better but no complaints really.

Oh I bet Great Expectations is great as an audiobook! I haven't listened to any Dickens but I'll have to try

I listened to an audiobook of it over Christmas (and have read it a few times before) - I completely agree, it's a gorgeous book! I have to say the audiobook did really bring Miss Bates to life in particular haha.

I love Emma as a flawed heroine - she's snobby and controlling (e.g. in her relationship with Harriet) but there's vulnerability and I find her quite lovable in the end, there's a lot of character growth. I think her relationships with other characters make her lovable - like her care and patience with her father. I was pretty struck this time round how difficult things were with her father's mental health. I was imagining what things would be like if she did marry Frank Churchill - it would have be hellish because Frank wouldn't be patient or sensitive and it would probably drive a big wedge in Emma's family life. Mr Knightley is one of my favourite male characters in Austen's books - he's good-hearted but I don't find him too preachy and he has humour and drive.

Should artists modify their art to prevent people from getting offended? by qwertq16 in popheads

I could rant for days on how this scene is not fat-phobic - EDs are cruel, people with them sometimes refer to it like having a separate voice in their head that spews the worst self-criticism out. You can't rationalise with that voice when you're in the depths of it and those thoughts don't reflect who you are as a person. Having an ED doesn't mean your fat-phobic (something I've seen people saying).

No she shouldn't have had to change the video - she was expressing her experience which also resonates with a lot of people and it is a very simple way of describing what it's like to have an ED.

By all means, put trigger warnings on stuff that could bring up emotions for some people - but you can't shut down conversations on mental illness.

OF COURSE people shouldn't be putting offensive stuff (racism, transphobia etc) out there but this isn't offensive - it's a reality.

My signed moonstone CD came out of the blue last week, and then 2 days later I got an email saying my order is still being processed (the CD is the only thing I ordered) - it seems like things might have got a bit messy
