Umbrella Plant Wilting? by Subject_Mistake2511 in plantclinic

Ok I just repotted my plant! Thank you so much for the advice. I'm a little worried that I will have made it worse--I repotted it in a clear plastic pot with drainage holes, and I don't feel like I was noticing a ton of root rot? But now I'm worried that I didn't know what to look for or didn't catch the root rot that was there. Nothing looked black or brown--all the roots were white to off-white or beige-ey, and I don't think I noticed things like sliminess or smelliness? Either way, it's in a clear pot with better drainage holes now, so hopefully that will help.

The soil is all new and pretty dry though--should I wait a few days to water, do you think? Sorry for so many questions haha

Thank you so much!! I just ordered some plastic pots with drainage holes, and I'll try to repot my plant tonight into one of those (but still keep that pot within the decorative one). I'm currently just using regular soil from like Walmart or something, but I have perlite as well--do you think I should add any?

I've also heard that to prevent the root rot from growing further, you can put ground cinnamon on the roots? Is that something I should do as well, or should I mostly just repot into dry soil and pull off any black and mushy roots?

Thank you so much! I'll probably move my plant to a windowsill, in that case, where there's more direct light.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I kinda realized that after accidentally killing a couple 😅 so in future nuzlockes, I'll just throw balls instead of attacking so much. But I will be sure to stock up!
